Montana's Restaurant - Tsawwassen

I have to meet colleagues from work and unfortunately I am the only one who lives the farthest.I ordered beef rib with additional 2 skewers of shrimp and it did not disappoint. I just wish that they serve lobster and other seafood. The handcarved steak that was ordered by my co-worker was very disappointing. It was very dry and rubbery. This is the same as Montana's Coquitlam. Servers in Tsawwassen are very good. We were a big group and yet no mistakes on our orders. Washrooms were clean as well as the whole restaurant. The manager was friendly.

Have been here several times and tried to be fair in giving it a chance. No 1 person or establishment is perfect. Tried again today as the past few times have been good. On a recent visit a waitress told us a new manager took over because the previous one was ruining the store. Except today, was awful again. Despite being 1 of only 4 tables on the lounge side, drinks took 20 minutes and a detour to the wrong table first. 2 servers then argued about which table was which #. Food was another 40-50 mins. We thought they forgot about us because other tables were already all done meals and there was no staff in sight. Since there werent many customers and the surrounding tables had been served what could we possibly be waiting for? Apparently for them to serve it because, when our food finally arrived it was ICE cold. Not being picky, and I don't mean warm. I mean ICE cold. Which tells me it was undercooked or sat there forgotten about. Kids were also missing half their kids meals. We didn't eat it, just left. When we said we were leaving and not paying for it server said "I understand" >> This location is simply way too inconsistent. The bad days are pretty bad. I will not be returning. They have lost my business (along with BP)

While waiting for the Tsawwassen Ferry to Nanaimo we visited the mall, and then went looking for someplace to eat. Being from the US, and not being familiar with the restaurant's we thought Montana's a safe bet and we weren't wrong. The restaurant is open and area with a honky tonk decorating style. Our waitress was knowledgeable and courteous. The menu has a broad selection of appetizers and entrees - similar to an Applebee's Chili's, etc - but with a BBQ flair. We decided on the BBQ sampler - which was ribs, beef BBQ, a pulled pork slider sandwich, and chorizo sausage. It was enough for the two of us, and it gave us a very nice selection. All the food on the sampler platter was hot and well prepared, and we especially enjoyed the ribs. For what appears to be a regional/national chain, the food was great and it had the atmosphere and service of a local BBQ joint. A nice surprise and worth the visit.

Montana's Steak House is one of my favourite steak restaurants.I particularly loved the gain size beef rib. My daughter treated me for my birthday and we naturally ordered the beef and pork ribs. Our whole family including my 3 young grand children loved the food . Yes a nice place to enjoy a good old American style food if one is visiting Tsawwassen Mills Shopping.

Tuesday night date night. At about 5 PM we were the only people in the restaurant.I had steak fajitas, hubby had steak salad. No question on how we wanted meat cooked. Mine came reddish, his well done. (We would have preferred it other way around). Meals were 6.5/10. Had to flag down the two girls at the front desk for more napkins. On the good side the pop was good - well calibrated, though no offer of refills.Won't hurry back.
