La Boite a Sushi - TROIS-PISTOLES

La Boîte à Sushi is renowned as the "best place for sushi" in the area. As a sushi enthusiast, I have visited a few times. The restaurant offers a wide variety of maki at a reasonable price. All of the maki rolls have the seaweed on the outside, which visually lacks variety (where are the inside-out rolls with fish on the outside?). The first round of tastings revealed that the maki rolls were all delicious and generously sized, larger than any other place I've been to. However, there was a lack of variety in flavor, as they all started to taste the same by the second round. Nonetheless, we appreciated being able to take home leftovers. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual, with nice decor, although the lighting felt a bit harsh and reminiscent of a cafeteria. On our next visit, we plan to try other popular dishes such as the General Tao's plate.

Although the food was decent, the service was terrible. We ordered a $100 meal but the waitress wouldn't give us a $0.50 cup of sauce, even though we had requested it before paying. Additionally, we had to wait an extra 30 minutes beyond the initially promised 1-hour wait.

We liked eating here. Its not your normal chinese food. I think without saying its a healthy chinese food restaurant. There were few fried foods, the meals were chock full of vegetables. The general Tso's chicken may actually been healthy for you. Good taste and good for you. Try it if you are in Trois Pistoles.

We were delighted by the sushi we found in Trois Pistoles. It was a pleasant surprise. However, we had to wait a very long time for our food due to the large number of orders (both takeout and dine-in). We would recommend ordering in advance or checking for potential delays.

This is a small restaurant on Trois-Pistoles' main street. When you come in, the cook is preparing the sushis in front of you. You can see all the yummy ingredients. I have tried many of the sushis and they were all excellent. Don't miss the lobster sushis, they are exquisite. My hubby had General Tao chicken and it was very good. Their soups are amazing too. I cannot comment about service there as I have always called for take out. The employers/owners are very pleasant too. I order every time I am in Trois-Pistoles and will do so again this week-end. Can't wait !
