Restaurante A Capoeira - Porto

Two ladies in their middle years push out the plates with a minimum of fuss, gentlemen with unforced good manners take care of the front of house, the decor is firmly in the traditional family restaurant school, and the menu is kept plain, simple and with a minimum of flourishes. But the food is delicious, I ploughed through a staggeringly tender slab of steak that sliced like butter and enjoyed every mouthful (not entirely sure about the slightly glutinous sauce and the fried egg on top, but what the hell) and all the while regulars pop in and out, drinks and side dishes are produced with a flourish, and when the bill arrives it's hard to believe that they haven't left something off. They haven't, it's just cracking value for money a busy and purposeful vibe but always relaxed, and a really satisfying meal followed by a walk along the front. Comfort food in a comfortable setting.

Very good food, expecially the fish. Kind and smiling waiters. Very nice atmosphere. Place near the ocean.
