Bidrage med feedbackI took the evening cooking. they meet in the restaurant and then a van brings them to a beautiful farm (in the time for sunset when they have luck). they and their group choose six dishes to make from the cookbook they offer them, and then to do the prep work and cook the meal with help from the teachers. was a really funny experience and eating tasted great. would definitely recommend for anyone who is curious about a cooking class or laotian food!
I had a delicious lunch here today. As a vegetarian it was wonderful to find many vegetarian/vegan options on the menu that still gave you an authentic Lao taste. Lots of flavor and very fast/friendly service.
We had hoped to dine at the Tamarind next door but it was too busy and full to accommodate us, so we ended up here in the Bamboo Tree instead. We ordered one of the set meals and found the food to be good though not revelatory or necessarily memorable. The restaurant was however well appointed with a lovely ambiance.
Lovely street side restaurant overlooking the Nam Khan River. This river feeds into the Mekong about 500m further down. We had a street side table and had a great time watching the happenings along the street, including a guy trying to pick mangoes from a tree using a 10 foot bamboo pole. The food is a local Laotian plus western type mix. Food portions are good and tastes quite nice.
Truly a wonderful meal to have for our last dinner in Laos! The black sticky rice that accompanied our curry and Luang Prabang sausage was magnificent and overall the prices were VERY recently. It is very easily accessible if you're downtown as it is in the heart of the city centre and I would definitely recommend the place for other tourists looking to taste authentic Laotian food!
