Beach Boy Restaurant - Gimli

I had a fantastic pickerel platter at this restaurant that was big enough to share with a friend. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend this place.

I visited this restaurant with a group of 5 people and tried to join two tables together, but was told by a staff member that it was not allowed. When I asked the owner, he said it was because I would be blocking the ketchup dispenser, which was not true as shown in a picture I took. The owner seemed unappreciative of his customers, not offering any thanks for their support and never even smiling. At around 7 o'clock, he told a line of customers that it was takeout only, even though there were open tables available. It seemed like he just wanted to close up and go home. I found the food to be average at best, with soggy fries, a bland salad, and over-spiced pickerel. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I'm not a big fan of fish, but I thought the dish was excellent! The fish was seasoned with lemon pepper and tasted great. The fries were delicious and the Greek salad was outstanding. The only downside was that they were a bit slow in cleaning and clearing tables on the outdoor porch. Despite that, the restaurant was very popular and the portions were generous.

We had a cheese beef burger, poutine and a pickerel sandwich. All was very tasty. I think if the bun was toasted on the beef burger it would have been perfect! There was a lot of onion and pickles which was great! Fish was fresh and tasty. Poutine was good.It is 2023...where is the air conditioning? It was very warm and stuffy in there. I felt really bad for the staff. Sweating buckets!

Good food in Gimli. Ordering is slow. The kitchen seems to get them out quick, but getting your order placed seems to slow. Stop taking orders before they’re closed. I’ve had a pickerel dinner there and it’s a little expensive but the mountain of food you get is very good. I’ve also had the fat boy and chilli fries. Onion rings. Everything is pretty good tasty. Your classics Greek style burger place. I do not think the place is wheelchair accessible. And parking in the summer isn’t the best.
