Bidrage med feedbackI was delighted to see that the Heaven offered a Vegan breakfast and had been looking forward to trying it. However when it came out I saw they gave me soda bread as the toast which is made with buttermilk. I asked to check with Chef and I was correct it wasn’t Vegan. Then I continued to eat the rest. Noticed the mushrooms tasted a bit unusual so I asked waitress to check what they were cooked it. I was then advised it they were cooked in garlic butter. After I had already ate some. Luckily I don’t have allergies, as I was given milk and butter with my “vegan” meal, but I have been Vegan for 4 years. It’s just terrible you can’t trust such an established hotel. It was advertised for months as Vegan breakfast. I wonder how many people didn’t cop on like I had and ate it without realizing at the time. The service was just awful I had to ask for Soy milk a million times with my breakfast. The tea was cold by the time it came. I waited for twenty minutes for the toast too instead of soda bread. Had to ask twice for that too and by the time it came it was rock hard. There was only two tables of two there at the time. Mine being one of the tables. The staff hadn’t a clue what they were doing. Obviously including the kitchen staff. Extremely disappointed and upset over it. I would never usually write a comment but this was an absolute disaster. I also went there for a vegan curry there a while back and the nachos which were advertised as vegan tasted really cheesy and I said are you sure these are vegan, definitely no milk or milk powder, they reassured me, but now I feel like that was a lie too. I don’t trust them one bit. Will never eat there again.
Just home from Sunday dinner here. 6 of us in total 4 adults and 2 teenagers. The beef is absolutely fantastic 3 of us had the queen beef and one had the king beef (I’ve no idea how he finished it as the king beef is massive!!! one had the roast chicken and one had the fish nuggets. The food was super, service very efficient, the hotel is immaculately clean with hand sanitizer everywhere and 2 huge bowls in reception with individuality wrapped hand wipes. Have the beef you won’t be disappointed it’s just fabulous.
Went to the haven for dinner. When we first walked in we were handed menus and went to find a table. Loads of empty tables out the back of the bar area but we were told they were not set up for food. So waiting until a table became free in the bar. Sat down and looked through the menu, no one came near us for over 20 minutes to take a drink or food order. We ordered food and drinks 2 minerals and a pint of Guinness might I add) and nearly 25 minutes later the bar man came over and asked us did we want drinks to which we told him we had already ordered them ages ago. Fair play to him he went and got them straight away. One of us had ordered a starter soup) and this took ages to come and left a waxy taste in your mouth so couldn't be finished. By this stage there was only 2 other tables in use in the bar. The waitress left the empty bowl on the table and were walking around like robots but not doing anything. Again the bar man came to the table and cleared the starter and said he would have the main out soon. 10 minutes later the main arrived. For mains we got chicken and steak. The chicken was so dry and the gravy was so salty it ruined the dish. Again couldn't be finished. My partner had the steak, asked for it medium and this came well done with some frozen onion rings. The one star is for the barman darryl I think his name was because he was the best part about the visit
What an excellent experience we had in the Have. the hospitality was excellent. We were made to feel at home the moment we arrived. The hotel itself has been recently refurbished to a very high spec. the service in the Bar was second to none. Thank you very much we will be back
Went with my family for dinner and must say we were really delighted with the service and the food, it was superb, will be back again.
