Bidrage med feedbackWhen in Zihuatanejo, it is mandatory to spend at least one day at La Ropa Beach. The sand is soft, the water is warm, the waves are gentle. Everyone is having a good time. This particular day we chose to hang out at Restaurante Arena, down near the far end of the beach.Jimmy was our waiter for the day. He was fun, friendly and always wanted to make sure we were having a good time. The cervesas were cold and the grilled fish tacos and nachos were tasty. We had buckets of ice to keep our cervesas cold as we sat all day under the palapa, 30 degrees in the shade. It is true they charge a fee for the lounger chairs. We opted out because we were not sure if we were going to stay. Everything was so good that spent all day there under a palapa with regular white chairs. No problema! They have a parrot and near the kitchen Jimmy took us to see the alligators & turtles.Over our vacation we tried out a few other beach bar / cantinas, none of the others that we tried were as all around enjoyable. A good place to enjoy the beach, sun and shade while keeping your feet in the sand.
We visit Zihua every year and this year went to Restaurante Arena several times. Right on the beach, access to umbrellas and cold beer! Milton was friendly and attentive with snacks and drinks. I forgot my credit card when I paid the bill - we came back two days later and just as we walked in, he ran up to us about my card. It was safe, kept locked up in the office. No extra charges or anything. We'll be back!
Milton is the nicest server on the beach.....there are a few public access restaurants on this beach(possibly the nicest in Zihua, but dominated by private hotels). This is the friendliest.
I looked for a quiet spot, where we could spend an entire day. For 150 pesos, you rent 2 lounge chairs with cushions, a nice umbrella, side tables, beach front, and the best service, from Eric or Freddie. Clean restrooms, good food, we liked the Mexican breakfast. We enjoyed walking from Madera, to Arena, and Eric would phone a taxi for our late afternoon return to our condo.Arena is part of Hotel Del Mar, near Ross's. Spent 5 days of glorious relaxation, attended to by Eric, who became our friend.
Great service with a smile! Ask for Carlos, he remembers your name, takes great care of you, and pours a mean drink! The food is great for the beach, and the setting is excellent!
