Bidrage med feedbackIf you're every in Zihuatanejo, La Casa Vieja is a good place to come visit. The entrance is open and inviting. The patio area seating is also open and well appointed with local flowery trees and shrubs. Service was good and prompt and the food menu had a good assortment of dishes to choose from. on my visit I went with the Brochetta de Camarron. That is blackened shrimp on skewers with grilled vegetables on a bed of rice. Very tasty! Overall a positive experience and can accommodate large parties.
Thursday is pozole day here! Green, white or red pozole with chicken, pork or seafood. Live music, which was a little too loud. It was an experience!
Went last evening with friends after watching the Carnival Parade to escape the crowds in Centro. We had a great experience, definitely going back next year on our return to Zihuatanjeo. The food was delicious and we enjoyed complementary liqueurs called Chálua with the history behind how it's made. JR our Waiter- Mesero was fun, funny and efficient. I highly recommend this place.
Since we arrived the music was very loud and we couldn't hear each other. The food took 1 1/2 hours to prepare and the taste and quality were very poor. Everything was refrigerated and from a can. The fish could not be eaten because it was raw. The water tasteless. I think I would look for another place to eat in the future as it was too expensive for the quality of food we received. What redeems the place is the warmth and service of the waiters.
