Bidrage med feedbackThis was a solo visit and again the Royal Oak excelled in all areas : especially in the area of customer service where I was very well looked after .I watched the rugby in the bar and this added to the atmosphere (although I know the TV is only on for exceptional occasions which totally suits me). My Flat iron steak was perfect as well as the accompanying glasses of wine. Breakfast also fabulous . Again one of the best pubs in the country . I will be back . Well done the The Royal Oak team.
A great Pub. of the old Tradition, with a lovely up to date Atmosphere. Has that Unique combination of Style AND Substance Very highly recommended !! Debal
We had Sunday lunch here today and it was wonderful. The roast beef was fantastic and the portions were huge. I was really full but just had to make room for dessert. The lemon posset was lovely and although small it was plenty after a huge main course, Will definitely return.
What a lovely place it is. We had 3 course meal and it was absolutely amazing, good selection of beverages and above all most attentive and friendly service. We were looked after very well. I highly recommend this place and will be back again.
The pub itself is lovely and in a great spot. I was looking forward to lunch having read the reviews. Two of our party ordered the Fish Stew description on the menu Fish stew – Gurnard, Scallops, St Austell Mussels, fennel, monk’s beard, pickled lemon, bouillabaisse. When it arrived in a bowl there was a very small piece of Gurnard, three very small scallops and three mussels sitting in a small amount of bouillabaisse. This would have been an adequate starter but as a main it was a very small portion. Not really a stew, and I realised that we perhaps should have ordered sides of potatoes or bread to mop up the sauce. I had to rest in between mouthfuls to avoid the embarrassment of finishing after four mouthfuls and way ahead of everybody else. Sides are an extra £5 each. Should not be described as a Stew and should be served with something starchy. A real shame as otherwise lovely.
