Bidrage med feedbackRooms are fine but small. Front desk, doormen, and housekeeoing efficient and friendly. The restaurant, Via Sophia, is poorly run and food is definitely reheated, packaged food. Skip it if possible.
We would not stay here again. Check in was fine, the staff was very friendly. Once we were in the room we immediately noticed how dirty it was. (see photos) There were stains on the floor between the beds, potato chips on the floor under the desk, dust on most of the surfaces and hair in the bathroom. Also, one of the expensive snacks on the mini bar had been opened. I called the front desk to make them aware of the cleanliness issues and to make sure we were not charged for some $8 cashews that we didn’t eat. The front desk immediately switched our room and apologized for the issue. The new room was an improvement but we still found a dirty towel under the vanity in the bathroom that was left by the previous guest. Our young son really liked the view from this room so we decided not to risk another room switch over the towel. The room had a door to access the adjoining room and it offered very little privacy. We could hear EVERYTHING our neighbors said and assumed they could hear us as well. This made us very uncomfortable and it was difficult to feel like we had any privacy. The room itself was a bit small but not really an issue since we were only there to sleep, shower and change. Showering was very difficult because we had almost no water pressure. It was like trying to shower under a garden watering can. Much more of a gentle pour than a spray. Upon checkout the staff were again, very kind and professional. They allowed us to leave our luggage there until it was time to catch our train, despite being after our scheduled checkout. My only real complaint about the check-in/check-out experience was that other guests seemed to be offered a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival, but not us for some reason. When I asked for a glass for my wife during checkout the gentleman at the desk was more than happy to provide one for her to sip on while we waited for our Uber. When we got home we noticed a charge on our card for $80+, so I checked the receipt from the hotel and saw that we had been charged for drinks from the minibar that we definitely did not consume. I specifically asked about this when we checked out and the gentleman at the desk confirmed that the only charge was one $8 beverage. So somewhere between our checkout and the charge hitting the card two more drinks were added. I called the hotel and they refunded the two incorrect drinks without question, leading me to believe that this happens frequently. We also saw the $25 per day “resort fee” which supposedly covered the optional use of the exercise facilities, or something… Regardless, an extra $50 in fees for things that should be included in the daily rate leaves a bad taste in your mouth for a hotel. The location was fine; close to the metro, across the street from a park, walking distance to restaurants, etc. I wouldn’t call it a bad hotel, but between the extra fees, noisy and poorly cleaned rooms, and surprise minibar charges it's not one we’ll stay at again.
I stayed here with a group from work. My room was clean and comfortable, but several others in the group had weird smells in their room. I would rate it 5 stars if it weren't for the slow, small elevators. Great, central location.Nearby activities: Close to the White House. 1 block from the closest metro station.
Very clean. The looby has a very nice smell. The staff were extremely friendly, especially Mahmood. They gave us free tickets for activities in Washington. The location is excellent. I stayed there for a week. Highly recommended.
Great hotel in Washington DC. Very centrally located. Big rooms, well air conditioned. Decent coffee machine in each room. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's an easy walk to all of the main attractions.
