Bidrage med feedbackBistro Aracosia has recently added a huge separate vegan menu! It's enormous! All we had was delicious and the service was excellent and friendly. Cosy atmosphere too. See my photos for more. #Veganuary
My husband called it a “party in his mouth”. Amazing food. We'll be back a lot!
This meal left my divider and I near speechless. Although the waiting staff began to describe meat dishes as the restaurant “bread and butter” when we got the vegan menu, we were in heaven. The menu is honestly a bit hard to navigate, but no worries. The waiting staff helped us escape a savory sales appetizer and sampler platter. We shared both and BA brought the duck on two separate records. The crowd was hearty, we both stuffed despite parts. Each dish in the Entree Sampler was great, and they all complemented each other in different ways. It was more than delicious, it was complicated and artistic. And I'm not one who has special price service in culinary experience, but this team really came out. They were friendly, patient with the menu and well versed on the healing of a vegan-friendly meal. Besides, the meal came with small treats that were a surprise. For example, while we waited, they brought a flatbread with four dips (Preview: a dip was not vegan), which were delicious and clear. Overall; great food, great staff, great experience!
This tucked away spot in the far reaches of upper NW DC is well worth the trip. The atmosphere is exotic, with cool art and novel decor. Our server was in training, and was as sweet and humble as he could be and explained that he has just gone plant based himself hurray! We explained that we were vegan, and he was very well versed with the veganizable options in the vegetarian section, including that they had a vegan version (almond) of the classic yogurt sauces! This was a first for me, in the past I've always had to skip this element of Middle Eastern food. I ordered the Qabuli Combination Platter, which was incredible. They did not have any vegan desserts, which bummed us out and we asked our server to passed our bummed outness along to the management. After dinner we took a stroll around the neighborhood, which is adorable. So a really fun night out, all in all.
First off, the service here was absolutely incredible! They provide complimentary bread with amazing dipping sauces to start the meal. Almost all of the vegetarian options can be made vegan. I wish there were more vegan appetizer options but there are plenty of wonderful entree choices. I also had a spiced pear cocktail which was heavenly. My boyfriend got a vegan stewed eggplant entree that was fantastic! At the end of the meal they brought out a complimentary rice pudding. When the waitress realized I was vegan and could not have the rice pudding, she sweetly brought over two mini pomegranate martinis for us. I was blown away by the staff’s attentiveness and kindness throughout the night.
