The Stretton Fox - Warrington

I went to a lovely restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and multiple log fires. I was initially pleased with the special steak supper deal (3 courses for £20 from a select menu), but when the bill came, it was incorrect. The items were listed separately and more expensive than expected. However, after the bill was reprocessed, the cheaper non-steak supper deal mains were grouped together as £20 instead of the actual items purchased. The serving staff were apologetic and mentioned that it was an issue with the IT tills. It would have been better if this error had been checked before the bill was issued.

We were unfortunately seated 30 minutes late and during this time, we did not receive any assurances that we would be seated soon, so the service was not very attentive. Once we were finally seated, the waitress was friendly, brought us our drinks, and took our order. I ordered the king prawn linguine, but was disappointed to find only two prawns in it. Overall, the experience was average, but the prices were relatively decent.

The staff at this restaurant is fabulous and very professional, and the food is lovely. I visit at least once a week.
