Wells Fargo Steak House - Virginia City

Wells Fargo Steakhouse is always a good place to eat and drink. Friendly and familiar staff and amazing food. Dave Walker on Friday is one of my main trains. The restaurant has gone beyond the years for me, and I hope the good times can continue forever.

We had a wonderful night in Virginia City. If your stay in Ennis is worth the ride over the pass. I wish they would stay open all year, but we will be back next summer when the cook comes back! Really great meal. Hard staff. Everyone must note that these small cities work with minimal staff, so be patient and enjoy your holiday.

We had friends in town and they wanted to take us to dinner. We prefer our local facilities so suggested Wells Fargo Steakhouse. I write this for our party of 4 and, who all recognize and sympathize with the personnel challenges businesses are dealing with these days. However, we do not feel that our problems are due to personnel. We had a reservation of 6 o'clock, 9/12/21, and were set immediately. Our Shannon server was actually the owner she told us. They were from the wine we wanted and from two of their listed appetizers. Not Deal Breakers, but evidence that they obviously clean up their pantry and do not store again as they closed 9/18/21 for the season. We were not offered a bread basket and if we one, Shannon told us that yes, you need to ask as if they only bring it and the guests don't want it to waste. I understand how I hate waste, but maybe the servers should ask instead of guessing if it comes and/or then they have to go down... and then if you request one, don't have to wait 10 minutes. Three of us ordered the Caesar salad and one had the house salad. The Rommaine Salat was spoiled and tired. We waited for the freshly tasted pepper, but no one has ever been offered; When we asked him, it came 8 minutes later... after our salads were almost gone. Three of us ordered steaks, finally it is a steak house, all three were over boiled and cool. We said Shannon, her answer was "Ohmmm, I'm gonna talk to the cook about it. ‘

Another delicious meal while enjoying the music of a rock and roll legend Dave Walker! Thanks again, with the season that comes to an end, we will be... by next year!

Despite staffing shortage the service was outstanding. The food was excellent. My only criticism would be that there were too many French fries. My serving could have fed 5 people! Overall really good. Hope, our young waitress, was absolutely outstanding!!
