Torcatus .tapas - Vila Nova de Gaia

Restaurante pequeno mas com uma qualidade imensa. Staf muito simpático e atencioso. Um óptimo restaurante de tapas para socializar em casal ou em grupo, aconselho mesmo uma visita ao local. Desde aos ovos rotos, as gambas e aos folhados de alheira e terminar com uma sangria de espumante.

I do not recommend this restaurant, at least when it comes to tapas. Very friendly staff but the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered different tapas. The listing called for fresh mushrooms sautéed with bacon. The mushrooms were from a can! Canned mushrooms are not served, much less when the list indicates that they are fresh. This is cheating the customer. Clams à Bolhão Pato, a dish so simple to make. It wasn't good. The sauce appeared to be the same as the one used on the mushrooms. Poorly broken eggs, with little flavor. Worst of all was paying 44 euros for a lousy dinner and still feeling sick the next day. Undoubtedly, some ingredient used in the above dishes was not 100% good for consumption. The kitchen has a lot to improve. They must have a sense of responsibility towards the customer. I was misled by the reviews on Google. I created an expectation about the food and the reality was: Food prepared and presented in a basic way. I'm pretty sure the mushrooms are from a can, I had clams à bubble and duck. The next day we were all vomiting and nauseous and had stomachaches. Ovos rotos which is basically French fries with egg and ham thrown on top of them. The bill was approximately 50€. Totally misplaced the value attributed to the experience...
