Bidrage med feedbackHello, I'm here to say that it was disappointing to visit this Brazilian bakery, I arrived with my American friend, we traveled from Washington to Takoma, 30 minutes we got there, there was iced coffee, which means it wasn't fresh, the girl at the counter spoke Spanish, cheese bread was cold, the coffee machine was broken, the table where we sat we had to clean, I don't recommend the place.
First time trying Brazilian bakery and I must say this place was amazing. You won’t be disappointed! Highly recommend.
I went here for an event not too long ago and got churros, mini chicken empanadas, and a tres leches cake. It was a little out of the way for me, but well worth it. Everything came hot and delicious and the service was quick and friendly. I would make it a point to come back here if ever in the area again: the French rolls looked good :
This is a quaint bakery with a modest menu of choices. They have fresh-made bakery items that are traditionally found in Brazil. They also have candies, drinks, frozen treats, empanadas, and sandwiches. My wife and I have visited this store 3 times. We bought 6 churros filled with Dulce de Leche, a Misto Quente, a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg and cheese), a tiramisu, a concha, an apple turnover, a mini flan, a slice of vanilla/raisin cake and a cup of coffee. The churros were slightly crunchy and covered with cinnamon sugar. The filling tasted good and had just the right amount of sweetness. It tasted like caramelized, sweetened condensed milk. This was a great version of a Brazilian churro. The Misto Quente was a ham and cheese sandwich made with French bread. It had melted mozzarella cheese. Instead of ham, you can pick mortedella. Mortedella is an Italian sausage meat similiar to bologna. The bread tasted fresh. It was crisp on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside with a medium denseness. The sandwich tasted good, but there was too much bread. The price was low so I'm not complaining. The bacon, egg and cheese sandwich had the same type of French bread as the Misto Quente. Very good flavor, but there was too much bread. The price was low so no complaints here. The tiramisu was not particularly good. The powdered cocoa on top was dry and unsweetened. The mascarpone cream layer was light, but not rich in flavor. The bottom layer was like a thin sheet cake instead of ladyfingers. The expresso flavor was bright, burnt and slightly bitter. There was no liqueur present. We've had much better versions of tiramisu than this. It was edible. The concha was a mildly sweet yeast dough bread roll with a dusting of sugar on top. The top of the roll was a little hard. The taste was okay but it wasn't special. The apple turnover had a dough which tasted plain. The texture was between bread and cake. This was not a puff pastry. The filling was very good and the amount was sufficient. It was not overly sweet and the apple pieces tasted fresh. The mini flan had a rather plain taste. It basically tasted like milk and condensed milk combined in a custard with a very light caramel layer on top. No vanilla flavor. It was gelatin like in consistency. Brazilian flan differs from other types of flan by having a hole in the middle and condensed milk is always used in their recipe. Other types of flan use whole milk and may or may not include some condensed milk. The vanilla/raisin cake was basically raisin bread with a very slight flavor of vanilla. It was not cake. It had a decent taste, texture and moisture. For the price, I wouldn't buy it again. The coffee was a medium roast with no bitterness. It cost only $1 for a small cup. The attraction of this bakery is the fresh-made products which give you a taste of Brazilian pastries, sold at an affordable price. My preference is for pastries with more complex flavor profiles. These pastries can be appreciated for their simplicity and authenticity. The churros were absolutely delicious. The employees were pleasant and friendly. The shop was clean. Stop by if you get a chance.
Went for the first time today highly recommend! I drive by this shopping center regularly but hadn 't notice the bakery (opened in fall 2020) until seeing the business listed in TKPK 's Easter Eggstraveganza. Tried a few items and will be going back to try more! Loved my bacon, egg cheese sandwich and husband enjoyed his croissant. Whole family loved the dulce de ledge churros (obvi)! Super friendly and helpful service. So great to find an awesome local business!
