Bidrage med feedbackDuring our trip to the NS/NL ferry, we stumbled upon a hidden gem. The delicious cod and homemade frites were a must-try, and the restaurant offered a great view as well. The inclusion of flushing toilets was a bonus. Overall, a great find.
Stopped by today for fish and chips and Newfie Poutine, but was very disappointed. The fish was not homemade as expected, but rather frozen pieces that ruined the dish. The poutine had no flavor except for a heavy taste of flour. Overall, the food was terrible and we ended up spending $30. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
We stopped for lunch and ordered the seafood platter. Being located so close to the sea and in a small food van in a small community, we were expecting freshly caught fish. However, it appeared that all the seafood, including the fish, shrimp, and mussels (which were clearly just frozen pieces) were not fresh and homemade. It reminded us of something you would find in the frozen food section of a grocery store. The service was excellent and the woman working there was very friendly and polite. Unfortunately, we will not be stopping there again.
I visited Chubby's for the first time this summer. The fish and chips were very delicious and a good size. The burgers are really fresh and big. We came back several times and it was always good.
Had the pleasure of eating here on a trip home from Cape Breton. Food was fantastic, so fresh and tasty. I chose the seafood platter and it was loaded with fish, scallops, shrimp, clams and home made french fries. One bonus which you don't usually...expect from a takeout restaurant is washrooms, Chubby's have a little building out back that has a flush toilet with hot water. This bathroom was spotless. I wouldn't hesitate stopping here again. Service was very speedy and staff were very friendly. Don't miss this little gem on your next visit
