Retro Cafe - Southampton

We recently visited before going to the ballet at the mayflower, unfortunately we were in a big rush but the two lovely girls serving us were brilliant, making sure that we received amazing service quickly whilst they were rushed off their feet! The food was lovely and really reasonably priced such a good find with a lovely atmosphere and interior aswell, we thoroughly enjoyed it! Again thank you to our servers who were wonderful!

Great spot for breakfast and brunch. I recommend it! Tasty food and good portion sizes. They have outdoor seating for when the weather is good too.

I’ve been a semi regular customer of Retro Cafe for a few years and have always had a great experience there, the food is good quality and price, the service is always top tier, welcoming and friendly. Today was the first time I took my rescue dog there, he can be quite barky and anxious but both servers took their time to say hello to him and he settled super quick. I feel this is due to the calming homely vibe that this cafe creates. A nice add on was I ordered an ice mocha and they were out of ice, instead of asking me to order something else they went out to grab some ice so I could have my drink of choice (I would have happily ordered a hot drink but without hesitation one of the servers went straight out to grab some)!

On now the 4th time I have visited this establishment they have not had the appropriate takeaway coffee cups either having a combination of no lids or only espresso sized cups. However they still find have the gall to charge FULL PRICE for the beverage. I’m all for supporting small businesses , however if you running a business where you can’t order sufficient cups to serve to customers you need to take a look at yourself.

Great for brunch. Lovely and VERY friendly waitress. Quirky array of books, games etc. lovely breakfast. Liked it so much went back second day running.
