Bidrage med feedbackEmbedded in the corner of the food dish is the sweetest restaurant that I have since moved to Maine this autumn. Although it offers a number of Shawarma meat options, I was totally impressed by the Vegan Falafel Platter! In addition to choosing the base of which I went with hummus (alternative elections were mixed salad rice,) there is also a subway-esque-topping bar to choose from. I told them to load me with the veggies they were ready, the Stuffed Grape Leaves, Parsley Salad, and picked beets along the homemade hummus and tahini sauce. The two gentlemen who helped me through my first experience where very knowledge about the ingredients, and surprisingly in a time when many human interactions feel blunt and sometimes somewhat tense. They warmed my whole day and left me with a belly full of plants, mostly completely, food. I also have the baklava that, although I still have a tomb, is mouth pouring decadent in appearance smell. There are also salads and wraps that can be filled with falafel and or vegetables! I can't wait to return because it was one of the more delicious meals I got for less than $10 while up here! All portions are “100%” halal in terms of cruelty.
I was unprepared when I first arrived at the food court, intending to just grab a bucket of fries at the end. However, I stumbled upon this little place while searching on HappyCow and decided to give it a try. Before I could even look at the menu, the staff member approached me and asked if I had any dietary restrictions. I mentioned that I was vegan and had some gluten allergies, and he was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He prepared a delicious falafel and veggie dish with fresh hummus, veggies, tahini, and harissa. Additionally, the grape leaves were the best I've ever had. I had to go back for seconds, it was that good. If you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I now know where I'll be dining next time I'm in town!
Situated in a quiet corner, this restaurant is a hidden gem that I discovered after moving to Maine this autumn. While they offer a variety of shawarma meat dishes, I was especially impressed by their vegan falafel platter. Alongside the falafel, I chose hummus from the selection of sides (other options included mixed salad and rice) and loaded up on veggies from their toppings bar. The staff were knowledgeable about the ingredients and made my experience enjoyable with their friendly service. I left with a satisfied belly full of delicious food, including stuffed grape leaves, parsley salad, pickled beets, homemade hummus, and tahini sauce. I also indulged in some baklava, which was decadent and mouthwatering. The menu also includes salads and wraps filled with falafel and vegetables. I can't wait to go back and try more of their tasty dishes, all for less than $10! Everything on the menu is "100%" halal and cruelty-free.
The two gentlemen who served me were very knowledgeable about the ingredients and were surprisingly friendly in a time where interactions can feel dull and tense. They brightened my day and left me feeling satisfied with a belly full of plant-based, wholesome foods. I also got a piece of baklava which looks decadent and smells amazing – I can't wait to try it later on. They also offer salads and wraps that can be filled with falafel and veggies. I'm eager to go back as it was one of the best meals I've had for under $10 here in Maine! Additionally, all items are "100%" Halal and cruelty-free.
I initially went to the food court without a plan, expecting to just end up eating fries. However, after searching on HappyCow, I discovered this small restaurant and decided to give it a try. The employee greeted me and asked if I had any questions before I even looked at the menu. I mentioned that I was vegan and had other food allergies, including gluten. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He prepared a delicious falafel and veggie platter for me, with fresh hummus, vegetables, tahini, and harissa. Additionally, I tried their stuffed grape leaves, which were the best I've ever had (and I consider myself a connoisseur of stuffed grape leaves). I was so impressed that I had to come back for a second meal. If you're in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I already know where I'll be eating next time I'm in town!
