Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Short Pump

So, had a reservation but when I got there still had to wait 15 minutes. Got to the table and it was soaked. Barely seen our waitress and the food (Alaskan Cod) came out with barely any heat to it and no seasoning.

It was my first time at Firebirds. My husband's has been before. I was excited as I heard good things prior. We drove an hour to have the meal. We made a reservation ahead of time and were early for our reservation. We were sat right next to the kitchen, which was not ideal. We had a new waitress who was unsure of the menu. Which was not helpful. We ordered the ahi tuna and two mixed drinks. The ahi tuna came before our mixed drinks. We almost finished the app before we got our drinks, which was a bad start. The mixed drinks were good and the ahi tuna was also good but not much for two people. We ordered two entrees the shrimp and filet and the sirloin with garlic thyme butter. We waited for quite some time over 30 min before I saw my meal be placed in the window. It sat in the window for 20 minutes. During this 50 min our waitress never returned to the table. As we sat and waited, what transpired was that our waitress never put the second entree in. The manger came over and was very kind and offered to assist with part of the check. By the time we got both entrees (mind you mine was still sitting in the window while they prepared my husbands), mine was cold. My entree was then sent back. The manger, was very nice offered to make a new meal, but by the time I could find him, my husband was already done and he would be waiting. The resturant was packed and it took so long to get the food, I ended up not having a meal due to the wait time. It was overall a mess to say the least. They did comp the check. I left there feeling very disappointed. I hope new staff in the future are trained better and not put on high volume shifts.

We have eaten here many times without any issues. This time both our meals and the appetizer were bad. The appetizer was cold. The shrimp in both our meals were not only over cooked, but they were burned. This will be our last visit.

It took a while for us to get our entrees. We were first served someone else's dishes, then they claimed it was delay because my steak was overcooked. We were told it would be 2-5 mins. Almost 20 mins later, our food was served. It was good but i was disappointed in the poor service.

Total disaster. Our party of three adults and two kids had to wait a ridiculous length of time for water, bread and drinks to arrive. Husband 's pasta and one kid 's meal were delivered in the meanwhile. Those two were almost finished eating by the time the (amiable but overwhelmed or simply incompetent server came back to deliver the other kid 's meal and adult daughter 's salad with tuna, and to report that the prime rib I 'd ordered was off the menu and no longer available. (So, why not tell me that when I ordered, hmm? The bottle of wine we 'd ordered never did show up, but at least we weren 't charged for that. The filet (ordered to-go as replacement for the unavailable prime rib was cooked medium-well+ instead of medium-rare+. Never again, Firebirds Short Pump.
