Golden Wok - San Mateo

We absolutely adore this restaurant. Their dishes are incredibly delicious and made to order. There is a wide variety of tasty options to choose from, and we have tried many of them.

This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant! The portions are generous and the dishes are very authentic. I discovered this place on Yelp and have ordered takeout from here multiple times. I highly recommend the salt pepper fish, salt pepper pork chop, braised tofu with black mushrooms, and taishan eel clay pot rice (very authentic and neatly packed in the to-go box). Other dishes that I enjoyed included sweet and sour pork/fish, chow mein, and chow fun. However, I would suggest avoiding the xiao long bao (they were broken when we received them) and the pork with preserved vegetables noodle soup (disappointing taste). Overall, we were impressed with the majority of the dishes we tried and appreciated the generous portions. The prices are reasonable and I am thrilled to have discovered this excellent restaurant.

The food was delicious and our group ordered a wide array of dishes, all of which were prepared well. The service was excellent and attentive.

Our go to Chinese place. Have been going here since they were in Belmont. They are farther now but it’s real authentic Cantonese!!

Delicious food. a few dishes were a bit salty. the clay pot rice was great
