Bidrage med feedbackThe app keeps asking me to repost even though yelp took it down claiming I worked for them, I did follow up to the email and never heard back but the place is closed so here goes! There were 2 owners and one left. The good one left. The one that could manage people is left. I never worked here ever. This got pulled down but left it as a draft so reposting as it closes because this is the truth from a long term customer. I spent hours in this place with just me the staff and management because that is what regulars do. Even when a place is bad we have bonded with an element. When the staff left because she didn't want to pay them our forgiveness ended. Here is the story. I hope she never tries to run a restaurant again. This is not an industry you understand. She insults the bar staff in front of you in a passive aggressive weird way. Like literally we were regulars for a years. I stopped going on her shifts because she was a bad manager. I could forgive that. I could also forgive the fact that I got sick several times here. I can for give that time they found a sushi plate hiding after they were open for years. (It was from the last place, hiding around the sink I was sitting at the bar when they pulled it out) but there is only so much you can forgive. The people that worked there were treat poorly. The bar and wait staff were over worked all the time. I get it some of that's the industry. But they had a problem where they closed for a week at the last minute. She didn't pay anyone during that time and the whole staff pretty much quit. As they should have. This is not legal we have been told and we hope the staff plans to take this to court. Some of you have our phone number we would love to support you in any way we can if you were impacted. And one of those is to be honest and share this story. There is no excuse miss-designer-tee-shirt. Your tee shirt costs more that you pay your employees. You shame them and run an increasing shabby place. There are so many better run places they can find work, this place is clearly failing. It's sad but we got over the sushi place closing as well. The food was also never great. I get it it's a small kitchen but still. I post a 5 star review when the last co owner was at least loving in his own way. Please consider this when going. If you go, please tip well and in cash, I was also told the owners will steal tips so the owners get a cut of your tips. And bring wet naps, the place is no longer well cleaned. Also there is a hole in the bathroom floor so don't where heals in the closer bathroom. I heard they are closing at the end of their lease. We deserve a bar owner who cares! I never ever worked here. I don't work for a competitor. I was knowledgeable because I was there all the time and when owners use the office we over hear less. Even the fact it's closing, don't talk near the door we can hear you on the street. Also if you sit at the windows and type we can also see that. So use your office if you are taking over this location. The locals hate this place and we talk too. We are glad you'll stop getting tourists sick. This place was a health risk.
Great little spot on 4th Street to stop by (with or without reservation). Staff is friendly, considerate and willing to accommodate family/kids needs! Our food came to the table incredibly fast and reminded me of authentic Mexican food I used to find down in Baja prior to the pandemic. If you like Mexican food, it's a must to check out!
Great ambiance and service. For appetizer, we got the guacamole and chips. Both were great, but the chips really stood out. For the main, I ordered the pork belly taco and fish taco. 1 taco is enough- they are huge. I also had the Paloma, which was tasty. A little strong on the tequila, but not complaining!
Came here on a Tuesday night with a reservation and it was super fast to get seated!Good: Unique dishes and takes on things had a super pretty guac and chips $16 was too much to pay for it though, the chips were super oily and fried which I did like though I liked the spinach enchilada, but the initial taste is a little pungent and not super appetizing, the more you eat the tastier it gets! The overall vibe was nice for a friend catchup! The food tastes more healthy than others.Bad: Super pricey spent about $40 a person for a simple appetizer and 1 entree.Overall this place was good, but due to price, I probably won't go again.
Tacos were mediocre at best! Service was very poor! I asked if they had pastor tacos and I was told they had cochinita which according to them was similar. Being Mexican I know this is not true! The check was brought to me before I even had finished my food, while there was no need for this because the restaurant was empty. I was charged using an electronic device and the minimum tip option was set to 18%. I think it is important to leave generous tips, I just don’t think it is a good experience to have the minimum option be so high! Feels like I was being forced to tip a high amount regardless of the quality of the service!
