Bidrage med feedbackMost of the reviews on this place sounded great and it was super close to our hotel so we decided to try it. But I would not eat here again. My sister got the Fettuccine a la romana pasta which said no where on the menu that it had tuna in it but sure enough had nasty, un fresh tasting tuna in the meat sauce. It wasn't edible because the taste over powered everything. They also put chunks of tuna in their lasagna, again without putting it on the menu. Service was slow but decent and they tally up the check themselves with a calculator. It's a sweet mom and pop type of restaurant but the food was no where near as great as the other reviews made it sound. I would go elsewhere unless this is your only option. photo is of the lasagna
Simple, local, fresh. Nothing fussy, and the food is amazing. I had the home made noodles with fresh grated truffle. (It's a seasonal dish a steal for €22. To. Die. For. So simple, so easy to screw up...but perfect. I wish I was in town longer so I could eat here again. I do want to clarify that though many of their dishes are vegetarian and/or gluten free, there is meat and fish on the menu. Perfect for a mixed group something for everyone! The home made tiramisu was amazing; my boyfriend had a SECOND helping. Complimentary limoncello, amaretto, or grappa after the meal. Really feels like an Italian grandma invited you in for dinner.
Came here as a last minute option and was extremely surprised pleased. A place that clearly knows how to cater to tourists but doesn't make you feel as such. Alessandro was our server and he was amazing. Great recommendations and just a fun spirit that makes you want to make it a point to come back. Food was outstanding and it made our night. Highly recommended and ask for Alessandro if you want a great time dining.
Our experience with Hotel Barberini was terrible. They double booked our room that we booked a year in advance. The place itself was nowhere near the 4-star hotels we stayed in throughout Europe. Beyond that, the service at the restaurant was beyond poor. The only reason we went was because of the discount they offered due to the room issue. While people walked out due to the poor service.
This was unfortunately the worst experience we have ever had at a hotel in our many years of travel. I have never left one negative review until we stayed at this hotel last month. Not only did they lie about a fire that happened in our room (when really they just double booked or wanted a better rate since it was during the Ryder Cup), but they told us to go stay in a hotel nearby even though we had made these reservations a year in advance. Once our travel agent and WhatsApp got them on the phone the next day they acme back and said that somehow there was not a fire after all and our room was ready later in our stay as legal action was threatened. We were forced out of a reservation we had booked, promised a spa gift-card and restaurant gift card if we stayed somewhere else (we never received them), and were blatantly lied to numerous times about our room. They will not refund the money we spent on this hotel, and legal action will be taken. One of the employees of the roof-top bar was so intoxicated and so high on drugs it took three hours for our meal to be received, and we ended up having to walk out because he could continually not remember what we ordered, and was knocking down decorations, and drinks all around us. My family has always leaned towards having grace when travelling internationally as we know there is a language, cultural barrier. Had they tried to make it right this would be a much different post. However, this hotel was the most unpleasant experience of our travelling career and we would highly recommend never staying here.
