Bidrage med feedbackLoved the drinks at the Christmas pop-up, but the oysters I ordered were yellow, had many pieces of shell in the middle, weren't purged for grit, and felt like they were decomposing. The Caesar salad is the worst I have every had. The dressing tasted and felt like milk mixed with water; it was a little nauseating. I was really bummed about my experience here. I would recommend if you only go for drinks.
This is my second year enjoying The Evergreen at Birdie's holiday pop-up! While I found the experience disorganized with many service hiccups last year, this year was a pleasant improvement. I'm so glad I was able to get a reservation and give The Evergreen another try. The holiday decor was super fun and made for a magical night! I was pleased that our reserved table was ready waiting for us, but it was nice that Birdie's provided complimentary hot cocoa and a heater outside just in case. I love that this year Birdie's offered mocktail and non-alcoholic versions of their holiday drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed my Seasonal Hire made with Seedlip and a non-alcoholic version of the Reindeer Games. Both were delicious. On the night that we dined, the menu was extremely limited and missing many of the offerings shown on the online sample menu. That was disappointing, but the items we tried were tasty. My husband and I shared the Caesar salad, deviled eggs, Birdie's Chips, and crab dip. Everything was good, and my husband also enjoyed his Bird Dog. For dessert, we split a piece of fruit cake that was absolutely fantastic! I also appreciated the great service this year! This is such a fun pop-up to look forward to each holiday season in Richmond! It's difficult to get a reservation, but well worth checking frequently for last-minute openings and cancellations.
Greatest Oyster place you didn't know was there. Went before a show at the National and almost missed the show to stay and eat more oysters!
6 of us were there for lunch but Menu was extremely limited; it was different than what was on their website. The lobster roll was good and the oysters tasted fresh. Service was great. My family does not like seafood so they just had cakes. No complaints on what was ordered. Ambiance was setup like Christmas and very festive. I only wish they had more menu choices than what was available.
Cute little spot for a date night with its small tea room/ cafe vibe! Restaurant Week food was great and their mixed drinks were decent as well!
