I really enjoy the kare kare with vegan bagoong, but my absolute favorite dish is their nachos. Health-conscious individuals would appreciate this place as the options are plant-based. However, they could work on improving the restroom facilities.
Our generation today is often attracted in things uncommon. Located right in the heart of Lucena City, Reasons Café is a perfect venue to discover something new while enjoying ‒ surprising you with different deceiving food options while surrounded by diverse forms of art. The...distinctiveness of Reasons Café is not just the look of the restaurant alone, but also the food they are serving. Reasons Café is a vegan restaurant ‒ meaning, they do not use any animal products or by-products. They refer tofu as “vegan meat”. You will see in their menu creative options like Vegchon Kawali, which at first, can be thought as a meat option because of the famous dish lechon kawali – make sure to look twice! Comparing the tastes of both the original and vegan version, we cannot really tell the difference. Reasons Café scored a good point here. over, there are a variety of dishes to choose from. They also have vegan versions of Classic Filipino favorites like Sizzling “Sisig”, Relyenong “Bangus”, and many other tasty options. As we went inside the restaurant, the first thing we noticed was the interior. The ambiance of the place will relax you and make you feel yourself at home. Tattoo canvasses, traditional Filipino instruments, hall of fame for famous vegan celebrities, and Hindu and Sanskrit-related graphic arts are all displayed together making the place unique in aesthetic value. The artworks mentioned are all created and brought together by the owner and her friends. Axed tree-trunks and up cycled stuff are also used as seats and tables for dining. Adding to the wellness of the ambiance is the surround sound music. Another remarkable feature of Reasons is its value of being environmentally-responsible. For take outs, it is either you bring your own container, or pay the extra fee for the take-out box. Much of the plastic waste industries produce is dumped to the ocean – and in line with the establishment’s values, zero tolerance to plastic use is observed. Summing it all up, Reasons Café is a good restaurant. However, not all people will appreciate veganism. You have no other choice but to explore this variety of food. On the lighter side, you won’t have problem choosing what to pick. The well-versed staff will explain you the different dishes and help you come up with the food of your choice. If you are a vegan or just trying to eat healthy, this restaurant is a perfect one for you. The foods are not just healthy, but delicious too! They also offer entertainments like live music depending on their schedule. The restaurant also has an event called Luntiang Biyernes which happens every Friday, where they sell different vegan products just in the outside part of the place. Reasons Café is open Mondays to Saturdays, starting from 11AM until 9PM. So if you are thinking to try Reasons, do not think twice! Invite your family and friends. Try it out yourself and taste something new.
Whether you are a vegan or trying to live healthy, this place is for you. I will be coming back over and over again. Loved the luntiang friday. Bought quiet a handful of groceries from the stalls there.
My boyfriend and I came from London to visit my fam who live in Lucena. It was my boyfriends first time to the Philippines but we are both veg. I was so happy that he had a chance to try some Filipino classics thanks to...Reasons. I dare even say it taste better than the meat originals. The owner was there that day and she was so accommodating. I just wanted to say a big thank you to her for doing what she does. Bringing veganism to a country that so desperately needs a break from their insane daily meat intake.. introducing an alternative HEATHLIER lifestyle to our local community. It made me happy to see how busy the place was during the lunch service. We had sisig, vegcheon, bibimbap, tofu kebab, turon (omg.. , cashew blueberry cheesecake. And then bought some organic produce from the small local farmer they support in the front of the store. Yum!! I wish the best for her business!
