This place is very nice food is great. Drinks are definitely on point.
When Mi Casa Grill opened it got lots of rave reviews. . I remembered when the location was a great Cantonese restaurant run by a family with food that was as good as my grandmother and mother 's. A friend and I decided to have lunch there today indoors. The restaurant is nicely decorated, appeared clean and not cluttered. She ordered the super taco with carnitas; I ordered a burrito with grilled fish. We were both disappointed for different reasons. My burrito did not have much fish; in fact about 1/3 of it had no fish and was filled mostly with beans and rice. The few fried tortilla chips on the plate did not come with any salsa--the server said the salsa was inside the burrito. Whoever heard of having to dip your toritlla chips into a burrito to scrape a teensy bit of salsa? There was no salsa to scoop out of my burrito! Besides the 8 pieces of chips, there were two slices of cucumber and a dehydrated piece of radish. That is all and it cost $20 plus tax and tip. The base price was about $16; the fish was extra $4. My friend ordered the super taco. She liked the crunchy tortilla on top of a soft tortilla; she said the carnitas were good and it had salsa. Her super taco was served with a tiny container of rice and a tiny container of black beans. It cost $16.25 plus tax and tip. The food is not innovative nor creative. For the prices, I expected something special. I think a lot of their investment went into fixing up the building, decorating, creating an outdoor seating area enclosed by clear plastic curtains, and their online presence. The server did stop by to ask if everything was ok but didn 't stay long enough to hear our response. The bus boy refilled our water glasses. He was also much more attentive when collecting our plates and asking how we liked the lunch. I told him I was disappointed that for the extra money there was hardly any fish and that it wasn 't his fault. He said sometimes the cook forgets to put ingredients! I was surprised. Although my friend was unhappy with the service and said the food was not memorable, we left a decent tip for the service because we know servers and buspeople need to earn a decent wage. Without even a beer or cocktail, lunch was $25. The prices of other entrees at Mi Casa Grill are not for people on a budget. Given the prices and paltry bit of fish in my burrito, and the taste of neither lunch not being memorable, we decided to take Mi Casa Grill off our list of close-by places to eat. That 's too bad because the location had been empty for years and we looked forward to having a good, close-by place to dine informally.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options consisted of vegetables instead of meat, poultry, or seafood.
Cute restaurant with pretty dishes but the taste is a bit bland (not spicy for Mexican food, quite oily, and it seems that the 3 dishes we ordered had some sugar or sweetener (they were a bit sweet instead of spicy, making this feel more Americanized . The food was good, just not what I typically prefer.
Had dinner for 6 adults. Everyone enjoyed their food from Vegetarian options, to the grilled Salmon I had, to the special carnitas tacos. Drinks were great, and items were all fairly priced. More of a casual spot bordering on a date night place, but can get away with both.
