Bidrage med feedbackReally enjoyed this Indonesian food environment hidden away on a quite corner. There are a few whole pages of tempeh, tofu, vegetable options, but use the attached photo to make sure what you order is vegan. I had the tempeh soya chili which was mildly spicy but flavorful. Ordered a side of rice sauteed spinach to go with. The crispy snacks they have on every table are not vegan they contain fish. Staff seems knowledgeable about ingredients strictly vegan options. Would give 5 stars for reduction in non vegan options. Will be returning!
On taste alone, this is EASILY THE BEST restaurant in Phnom Penh. The only reason I didn’t eat here every single meal is that the portions are slightly small and the price is expensive relative to other Cambodian restaurants. But anytime I needed a pick me up, or wanted amazing food, Sumatra was the place to go. They have several pages of vegetarian dishes. Favorites included the spicy tofu dishes. Seriously, SO flavorful.
We went there a little early in the evening and were the only guests. The very friendly owner recommended some dishes to us, as the varity is so huge and everything sounds fantastic. The meals were really good, free water was served, try the sweet iced tee, it was surprisingly tasty. We also had a little chat about indonesia and where to visit, the owner speaks very good english. Can highly recommend this place, it was tasty and prices really low.
I loved it. So much tofu!!! And tempehOh, what I've missed tempeh. I'll definitely come back. It's not expensive (2.5$/dish) but you might need to pick 2 dishes if you are really hungry. Good service but to be sure, show them one the screenshot that I add to my photos so that you don't end up with oyster sauce or prahok.
The restaurant is really nice. Prices are ok for Cambodia. Good portion sizes. Nice staff
