What a nice place owned and run by a very charming elderly Japanese Lady. Well known in PPenh and appreciated aswell by locals as by Tourists she is in this business for over 20years now this is her second Japanese restaurant. Once set down she welcomes you and will give you the best of advice about her exclusive Japanese katasato cuisine and that either in English or in perfect french All plates are elegantly presented in an impeccable quality hard folded menu booklet with lovely pictures. Those little details are worth mentioning as they generally indicate a healthy and clean environment. Now comparing to previous reviews ..sadly still a pretty low customer frequency rate, and for singles priority is given to the central tables. But no harm done as the house is globally very neat and clean with loads of .. very precisely executed plastic flowers and other plants of the same DNA (which will accumulate by time loads of dust.. But until now I imagine my old school Japanese chef lady is watching over the house with a very clear focused mind and sharp sense of duty. Very well Miss I do appreciate that and will be back..promised! I had tempukatsu fried shrimp and noodle within a soup. The noodles were not aldente and would have needed 5minutes more to be perfect. I had Italian soda and was offered for desert a vanilla ice cream which was a very nice refreshing. A low turnover rate in a fresh cooking kitchen is always a critical point in catering and gives an idea of either the lack of income in the kitchen due to losses or in the other case a criteria of a lack of freshness due to unused products. My impressions are mitigated ..at first impression it's hoho! then at a second look it sounds more like ..hmmm! Fake nature in a pretty but not really upscaled place, the food was clearly prepared in a hassle and tasted pretty boring. Maybe I took the wrong choice of plate.. There was a clear effort to please but I will need a second visit or second opinion before I'm able to add 1 star or eventually take away one star... Let's see what time will bring...a few more customers and a more accessible natural decor would be a start.
