LE BOULEVARD - Pau

Outdoors on the pedestrian zone 'Boulevard des Pyrenées' overlooking this mountain chain at the borders of Spain is probably the most attractive location for a lunch in Pau. That's what my wife and I have, soon after the arrival in this Béarn capital. Never much for lunch we eat the 'Salade éstivale' for my wife, the canned tuna, a hard boiled egg in halves, salad, beetroot, cans of corn seeds, cherry tomatoes and an olives above. A rich portion like my 'Salade Truite Fumée', a smoked trout salad. The trout had pink meat, so it saw more like a salmon trout as they are commercially called, but this type of fish does not really exist. The pink colour comes mainly from trout, especially rainbow trouts from aquaculture, to which a Caretonoid was added. The salad also had green beans, salad and some cherry tomatoes cooked.

Right on the blvd des pyrenees a nice brasserie. Had lunch here and it was excellent and loved the fresh fruit salad for dessert. Wit ha view like this its a winner Ill go back as soon as the weather is better and I can...sit outside!!

Never eating much at lunch time we ordered the 'Salade éstivale ' for my wife, which consisted of canned tuna, a hard boiled egg in halves, lettuce, beetroot, canned corn kernels, cherry tomatoes and an olive on top. Nice place, pleasant room and terrace with views of the pyrenees (when the weather allows it).The welcome is friendly, the fast, efficient and very friendly service. Everything is hungry on the map. the plates are beautiful, the very generous portions, and it is very good.

Family restaurant that deserves a hint in a busy neighborhood. a terrace on the edge of the street not too passing that does not deprive us of the super view on the paved
