Bidrage med feedbackWe’ve been frequenting this cafe for awhile now but have decided to go elsewhere. In the past few no the if going here there’s only been one staff member who has greeted us (the customers) warm and friendly. Every other morning, it’s he same grumpy...staff member. This morning when we arrived, he waitress came to take our order but quickly left us before we’d finished ordering!?....when she brought us our drinks we told her that we also wanted to order some petit déjeuner items, and her response was ‘ we don’t have them this morning, you better let me know what you want because I can’t keep coming back to you’. I’m astonished she would speak to us in this way. She made us feel like we were an ‘inconvenience’ to her. If she’d waited to take our ‘full order’ instead of rushing off (it was NOT busy in the cafe at this time) there would not be a problem. Needless to say we’ll be going to Columbia cafe or Beanz where the staff are excellent customer service providers...
I was somewhat hesitant as the L’Aragon is in a picture perfect position overlooking the lower part of Pau and onto the Mountains, hence it would not be unusual to pay through the nose for mediocre quality food. However I was very pleasantly surprised with...the Lunch served to me in terms of Quality, Service, Timescale and particularly Cost. It was in all a very enjoyable experience eating there, and I would not hesitate to call by there again next time I visit.
Ok let’s start with the positives: great location overlooking the distant Pyrenees, very friendly staff and the patrons appeared to be predominantly locals. Having said all that the food was average bordering on mediocre. Maybe the chef had a bad evening.
We visited L'Aragon on a freezing cold night in January. We were in a warm corner on a banquette, a little hidden away but the service was excellent. The set menu was about 21 euros and very good value with a good choice. The black...pudding was very tasty and the confit of duck too. Wine was very good and not too expensive.
We were in this restaurant on numerous occasions when we are in Pau and our last visit was not disappointing. the restaurant is popular among locals, serving typical French cuisine with flair and efficiency without being boring. we will definitely be back!...staff are very busy, but stay friendly and helpful
