Kettles Back Home Cookin' - Owen Sound

We visited this lovely family owned establishment on a whim while in Owen Sound. The hostess was fun and friendly, the wait was a tad long given it was a Sunday morning, but our eggs Benny was delicious and the atmosphere upbeat. Our waitress was polite, quick witted and efficient. Would definitely visit here again and highly recommend!

We have dined twice at Kettles because we don’t live in the area but we do enjoy the experience and delicious food they provide. It’s a busy spot so be prepared to wait but never too long. Staff is friendly and very efficient, we have family that live in the area and we always give them a gift certificate that they always enjoy receiving. Portions are large but do offer half portions. We will be back to enjoy this restaurant again.

We had a great dinner and some great desserts to take home after! We will DEFINTLY be back! It was great to find a home cooking style restaurant open at the beginning of the week!

My boyfriend and I recently visited Kettles for breakfast to celebrate our anniversary. I had never been before in my short time living in the area so I was eager to check it out. I ordered their standard breakfast, while my boyfriend got the back bacon special. While the food was good, it was nothing to write home about. I’ve heard raves about the food at Kettles so I’m sad to say I left a little dissatisfied and disappointed. Portion sizes were good and our waitress was super lovely! Great atmosphere and friendly staff all around. We want to give this place another shot, so hope to make our way back for lunch/dinner sometime!

There were 4 of us today. 2 regular eaters, 1 vegan and 1 vegetarian. The regular eaters were thrilled. Great food, good value. For the plant based eaters there is literally nothing on the menu. Nothing. Adding a veggie burger, a meatless loaf, a tofu stir fry, anything, to the menu should not be a burden. If you are vegan or vegetarian this is not the place for you.
