Harrison Park Inn - Owen Sound

First time visit dinner. Quiet. Nice atmosphere. Music playing in the background but not overwhelming. Best burger I have had in a long time. Fries prepared nicely, not greasy. I don't have much to say about the fries as I am not a fry fan. Service fast, friendly. Food hot. Parking was difficult as this place is located in a middle of a park. Free parking. A lot of black flies bothered us in the restaurant. Time of year and location does not help. I suggest if the owner reads this, get one of those UV lights that attracts the flies and gets rid of them. Stick it up is the restaurant somewhere. Portion sizes a good size. Prices ok. Kid friendly if you decide that you have to feed your offspring. Two burger fries, Caesar side for the kid, one soft drink came to $50. I would return here if we are back up in this area of the province again.

The highlight of the dinner was the soup. A great home made soup which builds the expectations for a fantastic meal to follow. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The special was grilled halibut. We didn't have that but the liver had a distinct halibut taste to it. Be my guess the cook needs to learn about cleaning his grill or at least keeping fish separate from beef when cooking. The waitress was pleasant but missed gravy on the fries but didn't neglect to charge us for it. It had been a couple of years since I'd been here and I think it will be a few more before I give them another try. A little pricey for the class or restaurant but it is in a lovely park and just outside a campground so I assume they feed off the tourist trade. Pitty, this place could really do some great things and make a name for themselves.

I had higher hopes than delivered to me at this restaurant. I noticed on the website they had gluten free options and I thought I would give it a shot. The atmosphere is okay, but the restaurant was so loud I couldn 't hear the people sitting at the same table which got annoying. The gluten free items available on the menu included chicken wings, one other appetizer, liver and onions, or a hamburger... this was extremely disappointing for gluten free availability as stated on their website. I opted for the burger which was a little dry but not bad. Our waitress came by the table to take our drink order, take our food order, then never again. So we had to ask another waiter for our bill. The family environment was nice, but overall not a great experience.

Excellent home cooking!! Food is always delicious. Services are friendly and helpful. Service is sometimes a bit slow but food well worth waiting for. Love the park atmosphere. One of Owen Sounds hidden gems!!

Good breakfast on a Saturday. Food portions were great. Waitress was very nice. Coffee was good. Would eat there again. Canadians don't seem to use yelp.
