Bidrage med feedbackFood was ok but not nearly as good as I had expected based on other reviews. Sauces tasted store bought and not authentic. Everything was hot and good. Staff were very pleasant. Do not think of this place if you are looking for a sit down dinner (especially if it is a first/last date) as you would be dining amongst boxes of supplies and takeout customers waiting for their food.
As an Asian person it’s so hard to find good (authentic) HK style Chinese food outside of Toronto, Markham Richmond Hill. This was really good and done very well. Even better than some of the places in Richmond Hill. The owner was really nice and friendly. Will definitely be coming back again.
We were on the verge of giving up on finding good Chinese take out in Orillia until we found Gung Ho! The food was delicious, they were super friendly, and they were very careful to inform us of what was in each item to ensure everything was vegetarian and shellfish free! Highly recommend!
I absolutely LOVE the food, it's our go-to Chinese take-out option in Orillia. The staff are super friendly, and it never disappoints. I recommend supporting them ??
I grew up in Toronto, lived in Vancouver, Toronto, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and many more. I have no affiliation with this joint. What I do have is a deep appreciation of their food, their warmth and courtesy and their value. You won't find many wonton soups as good as Gung Ho's in most countries, let alone Toronto. Their Beef with Snow Peas is to die for. The wontons are packed with fresh shrimp, the broth genuine and complex. Forget all the BullSt reviews here stating they are grumpy or rude; nothing can be further from the truth. They aim to please, their cuisine is plentiful and top notch, and there's ample restaurateurs in Toronto, Vancouver and beyond that could learn a thing or twelve from this joint. Superb, and surprising. This is THE definitive review of the place, from a grumpy old man who hates most of what is served in North American restaurants today. Trust me, my wife is fed up with my pickiness, but we both marvelled at what was served yesterday. Now, before I split for the Big Smoke, I will return to Gung Ho for one last dive into their soupy wonders.
