Sizzling Rice Restaurant - Oliver

We were camping in Oliver and felt like Chinese food. We ordered several dishes from Sizzling Rice, some good, some lacking a bit of flavour. I enjoyed the Szechuan Chicken Gai Ding. Service was okay, food was okay, price was average.....this is your quintessential average Chinese restaurant.

Overpriced poor quality with lots of “sauce” few vegetables and two or three pieces of meat. Complained and were “Brushed off” no apology no offer of refund or reduction Avoid Avoid Avoid Worst value of Chinese food i have ever had. One star is generous

Old style restaurant the kind that every little town used to have !! Simple surroundings and a decent menu of budget priced dishes. Everything prepared fresh and hot. I had a combination plate. Not lots of food but adequate and tasty. My friend had the lunch specila which she also enjoyed. Based on the traffic I suspect hat a lot of business in in take out orders. This little cafe has been around for a long time so I suspect that the quality/quantity of consistant with no surprises. God for a quick meal but certainly not elegant dining.

Just ordered two dishes: a mixed vegetable dish and a sizzling rice both were tasteless, definitely not the best Chinese food ever . The sizzling rice did sizzle when the sauce was poured over it, but too much sauce it ended up being very soupy! The service was perfunctory. Would not return.

We ordered take out this evening and this food was the worst food we have ever had! Absolutely no flavor, dry noodles, no soya sauce, no sauce in the dishes... etc. When my husband phoned to politely let them know of our experience, he was greeted with an excuse that takeout food is different than eating in. What? Then she tried arguing with him. She never apologized or offered a solution! Stay FAR away from the Sizzling Rice restaurant!!!
