Bidrage med feedbackBeen here a few times and it is always brilliant. The food is cooked perfectly and the girls who serve are lovely. They all live local to uppermill. Excellent cafe. Plus the price of a full breakfast is amazing. Everywhere else in saddleworth is about 10 for just a breakfast then 3 for a drink. No brainer. Check it out. They deserve it.
Whilst looking for a breakfast on our day off, my wife and I decided to go for a trip to Uppermill and see what was available. On arrival we parked the car and had a look at the High Street and decided to go for a traditional English breakfast at Wilburys CAFE. Our greeting was pleasant and the owner was honest regarding the waiting times as it was in the breakfast rush where we was told there could be a 25 minute wait. The time was around 1030 in the morning. The breakfast which was the large English breakfast took approximately 15 minutes to cook which was great. Everything on the breakfast was amazing the sausages and bacon seemed to be locally sourced and likely butchers produced, the eggs and black pudding and plum tomatoes were great and the toast was thick cut of the harvest type. All in all the perfect breakfast and well worth the visit and money we paid. Thank you very much!! <3
The place was dirty and the staff were rude from the outset, tutting and eyerolling throughout, gossiping rather than serving, and when you do get served its always late without a smile, never again.
The goods: We just had crumpets tea cakes; both were hot tasty Good cappuccino We could get a seat (on a Sunday morning everywhere else was full or closed) Staff were very young but ok The not so goods: Table was mucky crumby Very run down, it looked quite scruffy dirty Overall, I would say this is very much a workers’ cafe, so good if you’re in your scruffs. Not a place I would visit again though. Sorry
We had been meaning to eat here for some time but whenever we have looked midweek, it has been empty. We went on Sunday, arriving at 12.15 and were surprised to find there was only one table available. As soon as we sat down, one of the servers came over to say there would be a wait for the food. No problem. She started to walk away, so I called her back and asked if she could clear the table from the previous occupants. Pots cleared, I than had to ask for the table to be wiped as it had food dropped on it. Basic staff training required. Table cloth wiped, it was still sticky and needs a deeper clean. The crockery from the adjacent table had been placed on the counter and they hadn’t been moved when we left an hour later. It wasn’t obvious if it was table service or order at the counter. You order at the counter. The plastic covered menus are also sticky. The adjacent table was cleared by the other server. She brushed all the (many) crumbs straight onto the floor rather than collect them in her hand, so the next customer trod them into the floor. Nice. The cappuccino was tasteless and wasn’t really a cappuccino as it didn’t have any froth on top. It’s also one of the most expensive coffees in Saddleworth. We were one of the few tables that weren’t having the cooked breakfast. The couple at the table behind were served their food 5 minutes before their child’s food arrived. Three people at the adjacent table were served their food and they had nearly finished by the time that the fourth meal arrived. The same thing happened to our table, with more than 5 minutes separating the two meals appearing. The hash was a watery bowl, with a few pieces of potato on top. I have never had it so runny. The meat pie was a huge plateful with bland chips and peas. Cheap. The decor is tired. No toilet for customers. Cash only. Towards the end of the meal, when the place was only half occupied, someone arrived who is obviously a regular and he started clearing the tables! What are the two girls employed to do? Sorry, but we won’t be returning.
