Bidrage med feedbackThis place sits at the rink of the aquarium in a small nook or the city. The restaurant is nicely Situated and the decor and ambiance is very inviting. The food however was the worst. Walking in at around 4 pm We saw some great looking mussels. We were sold on wanting it but was told there was no more. At 4 pm? How? Everything else we had was lackluster and tasted bland. Presentation was the same as well...
This quaint restaurant was situated conveniently right by the aquarium! We enjoyed all of our dishes there after our aquarium visit! Octopus tender and flavorful. It came mixed with a delicious bed of Brussels sprouts. Generally, octopus can be tough and I echo that this was not the case here. Brussels sprouts crisp and topped with bacon bits Who wouldn 't love that? Crab cakes ratio of crab to breadcrumbs was great! This is what I look for in a good crab cake. Again, these were soft and flavorful. I highly recommend. Mussels This was the only dish I did not enjoy. The sauce was too salty and I prefer my mussels to drown in good sauce. Also, a quarter of the mussels were closed. Perhaps they were not in season. Truffle mushroom flatbread This was super truffley and cheesy. It was a good carb addition to the meal. Lobster risotto I enjoyed this dish very much. There was a sufficient amount of lobster sprinkled throughout the dish and it was creamy and delightful. Salmon summer roll This was very refreshing and the salmon was fresh. The avocado and aioli were great compliments to the fish. I recommend this joint!
Good service , food is. So so, I think they need to focus inside Kitchen, it looks like they are going down hill, I feel sorry the restaurant was empty when most restaurants are filled up on rush hour. We had great time with bottle of wine, the steak was okay, I don't like to see kitchen crew come out and watch TV in dining, it will signal there is no leader. Parking is on street or nearby garages.
I'm skipping appearance, location, and staff. As these are all secondary to the actual meal, they no longer hold any weight in this review. My girlfriend and I walked over for lunch today and sat down at the bar. I ordered the steak sandwich and she got the salmon plate with lemon butter capers. When the food arrived, the actual appearance of my meal was extremely displeasing. I'm not saying it didn't look pretty (I could honestly care less about that, as long as it tastes good , I'm saying that it immediately looked like it was going to be extremely unsatisfactory. My sandwich was sliced in half. Half had steak and half had close to no steak what-so-ever (just bread, onions, and cheese. You can see this in the photo I've posted . The steak's appearance was reminiscent of the frozen Steak-Umm meat that I hold dear, it just had none of the flavor. Even with all of the cheese and grilled onions, this sandwich was extremely tasteless. The truffle fries I ordered on the side were absolutely soaked in truffle oil. I love the stuff, but this was wayyyyy too overpowering. Now, on to my girlfriend's dish. Since I was still decently hungry after not eating half my meal (who wants to eat half a grinder of only bread, cheese, and grilled onion? , I decided to roam over to her plate. Unfortunately, she was in the same boat as I. The rice the salmon came on was mush. With a little convincing, I would have believe you if you told me they were grits. The salmon itself was really bland and more fishy tasting than desired. It had none of the flavoring of the lemon butter capers. If you twisted my arm to say something good about her dish, it would be..... the salmon wasn't dry? That's it, that's all I have. All in all, extremely unsettling meals for a $50 lunch (albeit she and I both had 1 draft beer each . Honestly one of the worst experiences I've had in SoNo and its really unfortunate they serve the food they do, to its customers.
We were in Westport for a family thing and wanted to get Brunch with a friend one day. We looked around for an eggs benedict because my partner loves it, and Beach House had many options. I was a little weary based on the reviews, but he really wanted to try the lobster benedict so we went anyway. First, my partner was confused because it's across from the aquarium and the garage is called the Maritime Garage. We initially weren't sure if we could park there if we weren't going to the aquarium but you can. There is very limited street parking. When we walked in, the place was virtually empty. We had great service, and my bariatric meal (an omelette with egg whites, tomato, spinach, and cheese) was delicious. I tried a potato but wasn't a fan because they were very pepper-y. My partner said his benedict was good, but two of his yolks were a little bit firmer than he would have liked. He also wasn't a fan of their english muffins. Overall, I think it's a good option if you're looking for somewhere near by. I also think that they're a great option for bariatric patients as they're willing to customize everything. I actually almost finished the whole omelette and I don't even know how that's possible.
