Valbella Connecticut - Riverside

This was a nice restaurant for anyone. Looking to get a good Italian food; good service, and a very nice atmosphere. I highly recommend to anyone wanting ti make a memorable experience

The food was exceptional, with the best veal chop I've ever had. The service was reliable and the dining room was very pleasant. The noise level was low, making for a enjoyable dining experience. Overall, it's definitely a place I would go back to.

This restaurant offers the best Italian food in the area. The service is outstanding and the cocktails are delicious. The tables are spaced out enough to allow for easy conversation.

What a disappointing evening. The food was excellent, as always, but the service was horrible, ruining what was supposed to be a special evening for my wife 's birthday. Our waiter was attentive for the first 30 minutes after our arrival, but then he disappeared. Not only did it take 3 hours for the two of us to eat dinner (watching at least a half dozen tables of 4 to 8 be seated after us and then leave before us), but when dessert with the candle came out, they wrote Happy Anniversary on the plate. My written instructions were clearly, it 's my wife 's birthday and your her favorite restaurant . Our waiter 's only comment: Oh, it 's a birthday ...and then he walked away. I guess that 's the best he could do. Hey buddy, read the notes. The maitre d seemed to notice that the service was poor, as he brought us an apology course of scallops when he saw that we sat for almost 30 minutes at an empty table after we finished our salad. However, they dropped the ball again, as it took close to 2 more hours to get our dinner and dessert. I finally had to yell for another waiter to ask for my check...and then find another waiter to pick it up. Our original waiter finally came by to say, I hope you had a nice evening after he saw that I picked up my receipt and was ready to leave. It appeared that our waiter was spending all of his time chatting with people he seemed to know at one very loud table of 6 who were yelling, F-ck this and F-ck that throughout the evening. Not exactly fine dining. If you read any of my previous reviews of Valbella, I have always raved about the food and service. I 'm hoping that last night 's issues were a one-time blip, but if Valbella plans to maintain its reputation, everyone there really needs to do better. I 'd suggest that management have the entire front of house watch Season 2 of The Bear so they re-learn how to treat their customers.
