22 Bowen's Wine Grille - Newport

I started with a nice martini from the full service bar. Wine list is extensive. Brisk and friendly service. The crab cakes are delicate and seasoned just enough to taste the crab. The rare tuna steak is served sushi style with wasabi and soy sauce. Outstanding fresh flavor. The tuna practically melts in your mouth. My date enjoyed her clam chowder and fish special (fluke stuffed with crab meat).

We got there early and were told to come back at 5 to be seated and came back when we saw other people being seated before 5. But after that weird initial incident, things got better! Our waiter, Manny, was amazing and made the perfect recommendations for my whole family. We had Calamari to start with and it was delicious and had an Asian fusion twist to it which was amazing, then my husband and I had the 40oz special so the steak was split into 2 and ordered 2 sides, mashed potatoes and lobster Mac cheese. Definitely coming back bc Manny and the food were all around amazing!

It is in the top spot to be in Newport right on Bowen's wharf! The food is always good and Love, love, love Portside the outside bar! Its a must go place to eat. Lunch prices and choices are more reasonable.

Exceptional on the food, service and ambiance level. Great for celebrations and special occasions for those of us without deep pockets, where this kind of experience doesn't make it into every day dining options. If you are looking for a low cost option, this is not the place. But what you pay for in money, you get back in exceptional everything!

Nice table, good ambiance. Server was well attentive guided us well on wine selection. He suggested the halibut over the special. We found it to be dry tasteless served on a bed of very rich risotto. Did not enjoy it couldn't finish it. But, other guest have steaks loved them. We will return:
