Safari Room - Newport

We recognized Bobby, our waiter, from our summer dinners there. He’s always very attentive. Food was great. Ocean view is just as nice in winter. Burgers were cooked perfectly and the pasta dish is excellent.

A weird experience. There is nothing safari about the safari room except for thatch awnings. Functions more like a sports bar by way of football at the bar and a menu similar to Applebees but way more expensive and music that is hard to describe but rock pop…. The service was slow but I think because there were few servers. The ambiance is confusing and the food is ok. I imagine the view might save it but we were there in the dark and did not have a view.

Slow service. Tried to pass off short rib as filet mignon. Mediocre food.

Food was excellent! Our first time there and we look forward to going back on our next visit to Newport!

Good food, great friendly service — decor was weak and not polished, looked cheap relative to the rest of the venue.
