Chez Gigi - Mortagne-sur-Gironde

I had lunch yesterday in this bistro restaurant and it was a very pleasant surprise. I expected, in view of the exterior appearance of a usual restaurant bar with simple menu and welcome to the good franquette. or when entering, the decors, the reception were those of a good restaurant. the menu is very varied, and the elegant and attentive service makes the meal very pleasant. a delicious fish soup, although a little salty, accompanied by crusts that are just rissod from what is needed. to follow a sturgeon paved with a purée of creamy and fragrant potato and potimarron as well as a sharp, the fries that deserve to be a little more crunchy, but the whole nevertheless very good. a cheesecake that was mellow to wish. the talmont wine offered to accompany this meal was excellent and we were unknown, so a beautiful discovery. In conclusion, a very good level bistro, an elegant and attentive service and a moderate addition. a place I recommend when you do not want to eat in a more elaborate meal, as in the restaurant 1407 which is located further away. Thanks to the room team and the chef who enchanted our taste buds and this friendly moment.

Restaurant on the port of mortagne. We eat very well for a reasonable price. The desserts are magical.

Seul restaurant ouvert sur le port de Mortagne le lundi en ce mois d'août donc un peu obligés d'y aller.Accueil limite aimable, confirmé par les commentaires entendus ensuite en off dans la salle. Serveuse, seule en salle, visiblement débordée qui a refusé du monde car elle ne pouvait pas suivre. Un maquereau sur 2 pas cuit et pas de poisson dans le menu enfant car "pas de pêche le lundi" (et les maquereaux et le cabillaud du fish & chips?). Le lieu est sensé être le Bistrot du 1704 juste à côté ("testé et approuvé" même si un peu plus cher) mais c'est décevant.Autant on apprécie Mortagne et on reviendra, autant on ne retournera pas chez Gigi
