Bidrage med feedbackI really wanted to enjoy Mexican food at Mission, but it's just not worth the gamble. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so it seems like the food is just sitting there.
The chips had a stale, chemical taste, the beans seemed old and had likely been sitting in the pan for days, and the tortilla wrap was also stale. Unfortunately, all three of us ended up getting sick after eating at this restaurant.
This is a franchise so for that it is OK. If you really are familiar with authentic Mexican Food you will say "so-so". You need to request a corn tortilla or you will be served a flour tortilla. That is less popular in Mexico than a corn tortilla. They do not even call it tortilla but "shell" :-) The stews are acceptable and the choices of beans are good and rice is good as well. They are definitely generous with the portions of these so inexpensive dishes. Be careful of what you agree when asked. Sour cream and guacamole cause an extra charge but you will only find out when you look at your bill while enjoying your tacos. You have choices of salsas, mild or hot when they prepare your dish. On the tables they have tabasco sauce which is made in the United States and has nothing to do with Mexico. That is a horrible salty liquid full of preservatives and God knows what else. But it is convenient for the franchise and gives the illusion of adding "Mexican" to the equation. I like their reusable plastic baskets, it reduces garbage. In Mission it is the closest you can come to eat Mexican Food. It is OK, generous portions. They also have burritos and look generous as well.
If you not in a hurry and you want some mediocre chow then hit it up. If you drive to taco bell in Abby, you can get 5 tacos for 5 bucks after 4 pm. I think even with gas it's still a way better deal.
Best burritos around, hands down. I've had fish tacos and the giant taco salad too. Can never go wrong coming here. The owner even splits his time during the week from another location of his to help at the counter here.
