Milton Fish And Chips

I went to Milton Fish and Chips based on the many positive reviews on Trip Advisor. I ordered the lunch special $8.99 and Poutine for $5.99. In a nut shell, the fish was good, the fries were a fail and the Poutine was a fail. The batter was crispy and light. The Haddock was a good size, but thin and tasted too fishy for Haddock. The French Fries were dry and stale. They tasted like how you would save your left overs fries in your fridge, then warm them up a couple of days later to eat. The fries for the Poutine did not look like it was fried a second time. It was stale to the taste even with the cheese curds and gravy on top. I really love my fish and chips but after this experience, I won’t be going back. Total waste of $17.00.

Delicious lunch special haddock. Thick, fresh filets batttered right in front of you. Fries freshly cut, thicker English chippie style, cooked fresh per order right in front of you, as well. Put in takeout box fresh out of the deep fryer. No waiting under heat lamps..there are none. Arrives blistering hot. As can be seen in the photos, the batter is thin and extraordinarily crispy —it just shatters when bit into. Light flaky white fish. No fry oil taste. Premium vegetable oil is used and on display in crates. Paper takeout box had just a few spots of oil in it. The box had been wrapped in additional butchers paper, but it didn’t need it. Coleslaw simple, yet flavourful. Appreciated the tartar sauce and malt vinegar. Premises exceptionally clean. Appreciated having a chair for seniors to sit down on, although the wait was only the time it took to cook your food fresh. Extremely reasonable prices. Best deal in town, in fact. Check! Friendly, efficient service. Milton’s little gem, as the restaurant is just off of Main Street on Wilson Street. Will return for a halibut dinner at some point.

Absolutely inedible fish and cold overcooked chips. £14 went in the bin which on our budget is annoying.

Visited many times and one of the first customers. Fish you can tell is fresh not frozen and cooked to perfection each time. Same with fries more then enough and old style. Friday nights you may want to preorder or expect a short wait. Just try it.

This place is amazing! If you love fish and chips you gotta eat here! The fish is done to perfection light and fluffy and the chips are delicious. Once you eat here you will definitely come back. The best fish and chips you’ll ever eat. My family has eaten here so many times. We won’t go anywhere else.
