Gutsschanke des Staatsweingutes Meersburg

We stumbled over this jewel of a restaurant while we wandered through the seasburg, upper old town. it was already evening and it seemed like a magnet that lured us to the terrace overlooking the entire lake. the space was full up to about 90% capacity free. The...Mood was relaxed and the atmosphere was very pleasant. the service was very slow and the place seemed to be understaffed, but perhaps the actual tempo of the natives, they are in no hurry whatever. I think this was a problem, but when it finally waited, the things started to move. the menus were in high German only that made our selection quite difficult, but the time waiting was worth it, all when we got scrupulous fish dishes that were great. we felt like we were sitting there for 5 hours, enjoying the eating ambiente and panoramic view. our waiter was a very pleasant guy and helped us with his broken English. everything and everything is a very recommended restaurant and with a view that is stunning.

Came here one evening to compare the wines of the winzerverein and the state winery. both very drinkable! eating here is a bit more refined and we enjoyed the fish plate. would come back here without hesitation.

Very bad experience. both the quality of food and service were really bad. if you want to enjoy the fantastic landscape, simply go to nearby gardens and take a place,

I have never left a bad rating on tripadvisor, but it is justified in this case; we have hardly said a very rude waiter, we cannot sit on a table for 3 when we were a party of 4 though it was. a table for 4 there were many free chairs outside there was no busy time at all. he obviously lacked the ability of men. we just got up and left as there are many other better places in meersburg.

We stumbled upon this cafe while walking around in Meersburg as part of the typical Bodensee boat trip. I don't usually leave reviews for a place like Gutsschanke because it's one of those places where you pay for the view. But we were so pleasantly...surprised by their very decent wines and prices. We paid less than 20 Euros for 4 people. And for all the unsavory reputation the staff was given in other reviews, we found our waiter to be very accommodating and professional. We didn't make a reservation but were given a reserved table without issues when we said we would only take half an hour.
