Peking - Mechanicsville

Since we've moved here, this restaurant has quickly became our favorite Chinese food place. Food is always good, prices are decent, and I've never had an unreasonable wait. None at all if you call ahead!

The food is always great here and the staff are very friendly. Food is reasonably priced and usually have leftovers to take home.

I have been going to this place for over ten years. It was always a pleasurable experience... good food and good service. Over the last several months, you could tell it was getting worse. Tonight topped it all off. First off, the waitress was horrible. It took for ever to get a bowl of soup. Then she got the orders mixed up, or wrote down the wrong stuff. She didn't come back to the table, until we were done. The pork in the dish was all gristle. Horrible experience. Probably will not be returning. I don't totally blame the owner, but more so, our elected officials for the decline in the workforce and the higher prices and cheaper food products. Folks better wake up and vote for change.

08/07/24 UPDATE: This has been my go to place for years. As of today, it will not be! The food tasted very different than normal.. Everything tasted old and very bland, even the spring rolls! The fried wonton strip for the soup were stale, the fried rice had a funny taste and seemed very old! We couldn't even make it home before we were throwing ALL OF IT up. The only thing we actually enjoyed was the server, he was attentive and nice.. the only one running around trying to take care of everything! So sad..... I won't waste my money here again! 03/28/22, I came up to Hanover to spend a few days with my son on his 26th birthday, After an hour of searching and reading reviews, we decided have dinner at this location, the food was great , Saki tasted watered down, but it was ok. Service was great... Update: 03/29/22, the food was soo good we went back for dinner the next night and we were not disappointed!

Food was flavorful but a tad bit on the salty side.
