Bidrage med feedbackThis Saturday evening we were looking to have a nice casual dinner out in the Massapequa area, without having to make reservations. we had heard of Vida but never gone, heard things so we thought we would give it a try. For a restaurant of this type the menu looked pretty extensive. Upon entering, the place looked nicely set up and immaculate. We were seated quickly in the place, though it was filled near to capacity. The waitress was at out table almost immediately, very cordially answering any questions. They will modify virtually anything to taste. Unlike the national chains it seemed virtually nothing was out of range. This was quite possibly the best burger I have ever had,,The quality of food was just scrumptious. My friend ordered one of the bowl choices and it was super as well, as were all the sides we chose. The portions were very generous. The server was had was extremely pleasant and attentive and constantly checking back to see if we needed anything, bring more napkins, refills etc. without having to look for her. We have been to upscale expensive restaurants that don't provide the level of services and attentiveness that she did. At the same time, though it was obvious they were busy we were never rushed or in any way encouraged to leave to free up the table. It seems pretty amazing that they could provide a meal like that at such an affordable price. and,,oh yes,,,a special touch something rarely seen nowadays,,the owner himself was passing by asking how the meal was...like he cared about the people, not just your wallet,,,very refreshing... I have absolutely nothing to find fault with and would highly recommend this place for a great meal at an affordable price, with a super kid's menu to boot.
This Saturday we were looking for a place for a casual dinner in the Massapequa area that we could get into without reservations. We had heard good things about this place but had never tried so we thought we would give them a shot. Walking in we were impressed with its layout and how immaculate it looked. Though they were pretty busy we were seated rather quickly and almost immediately this really pleasant server came over, introduced herself and answered any menu questions. For a restaurant like this the menu was pretty extensive and unlike the national chains they appeared to be willing to modify almost anything to taste. I can honestly say this might just be the best burger I have ever had. With the choices of toppings, it had an unusual tangy flavor, cooked to perfection, not too moist or dry. My friend ordered one of their bowl choices and it was super as well, as were our choices of sides, all fresh tasting and home-made style. The portions were all nice sized, and in order to leave room for dessert we had to take some home. All during the meal our server was extremely attentive, checking back to see how we liked everything, that we were enjoying the meal, bring napkins, refills, etc., all without ever asking or having to look for her. I have been to upscale pricey restaurants that have not rendered the level of service provided us by this lady. It seemed pretty amazing that they could provide all this, with an extensive staff, all visible, at such an affordable price, and, oh yes, two more nice touches,,, a large list of kid 's menu at prices like a fast food place, and a rare thing nowadays, the owner himself was continually walking thru the busy restaurant to check on customers and see how the meal was going, refreshing that he truly seemed to care about his customers and not just their wallet, and took pride in his place. There is nothing that I could find wrong with this place and would highly recommend that if you are looking for a meal like this, why patronize a chain when you can get this quality meal at a locally owned business.
Great food and casual family friendly atmosphere! The staff is amazing and provides excellent service! Definitely coming back for the corn and having everything else, including the margaritas. BLT tacos are phenomenal! Everyone in our group enjoy their food, including the kids!
Was here with a friend. The ambiance was great. The service really good. The food was traumatizingly boring. They should seriously consider doing something else. My friend got chicken tacos. I have never seen such frugally filled tacos. I asked for the grilled chicken burrito bowl. I thought there would be a tortilla in the bowl. My misunderstanding. Then came the chicken. It was grilled to bitterness. Not going back here unless I hear they changed the menu. Place was pretty empty for a Friday evening. They need to fix the menu to cash in on the service and ambianceThanks Chris for an invitation to revisit. Much appreciated. By the way I did my basic education in culinary science in my mother’s kitchen pretty tough woman I tell you. I then went on to tasteville where they have a great course on good food. ???
Went there last night hoping for the place to be close to Zim Zari. Well we were completely disappointed. The menu was almost the same. The drinks were good and the service was good and that's about it. Went on a Saturday night and it was completely empty and now we know why. My biggest concern is why is blue cheese on everything? Got the filet mignon tacos and well that wasn't filet. We also had the short rib. Not sure why that also had blue cheese on it. The short rib itself was good but everything else in the taco was just bad. Definitely won't be back as it was trying to hard to hold up to the former Zim Zari and should just focus more on doing it's own thing with a new head chef because the flavor profile for this current one is just sad. Update. Art is subjective not food. If it's bad it's just bad. As I can see as a business owner you can't handle an honest review without having a tantrum. That's bad for business. I've never seen a restaurant have 2 tables at 8pm on a Saturday night but I guess that's subjective too. I don't need a culinary degree to know a bad taco from a bad taco.
