Bidrage med feedbackI walk in and I can smell the ocean. From a landlocked perspective, that probably does not make any sense. Watch some Chef Ramsay and/or Chef Lagasse and you 'll start to understand my reference. Okay, now that we 're being serious, their boils et al. are worth the trip. In being completely honest, yes, I 'like ' their boils; but I 'love ' their etoufee (with one exception). Rest assured, my single quotation mark, let alone apparent minimized emphasis as it relates to 'like ' is not intended to be representative or indicative of a negative assertion or opinion. Far from the truth. As a landlocked, confined soul, far from the ocean, let alone the heart of Cajun Louisiana, I must acknowledge and admit that my bias as it concerns fine Cajun cuisine dictates a specific notation to address Cajun flavor separate from seafood boil alone. Long story short, given you have read this far just go (to Hook Reel) and enjoy the smell, flavors, etc. I do mean the 5 stars herein, and the one exception as denoted above is simply my bias. The bias? Their etoufee tastes phenomenal and encompasses the vast majority of what I order from the menu it just isn 't spicy enough for me. I LOVE spicy Cajun food. For those who have been permanently landlocked and/or may not appreciate Cajun food, you will like the etoufee. My preference is to take a Chef Emeril Lagasse approach.
Everything was on point here last night! We arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday and was immediately seated. Not many tables were taken. Appetizers were fried calamari and coconut shrimp which were very tasty. I prefer cocktail sauce with my coconut shrimp, but they bring out a type of sweet sauce with it, which is the same sauce they provide with the fried calamari. What I don't like about boils is how messy they are so, my initial plan was to order a shrimp po boy; however, I split a boil with my coworker and it was right at $99. There were two lobster tails two crab leg clusters, corn, potatoes, shrimp, boiled eggs, mussels, clams, crawfish, and they allowed us to substitute shrimp for the sausage, which was an additional four dollars. There was plenty of food. I took leftovers home . I was serving back them up and told me that all I had to do was to bring a pot of water to a boil and then add the bag of leftovers for 10 minutes. It was very good with the house sauce at medium heat. This was a good time. I would definitely recommend this.
This is a good place to eat. We boiled with kazin seasoning, shrimp, snow crabs, scallops, sausages, corn and potatoes. Everything is unbelievable. There is a lot of taste and a lot of food.
Great food, great service. It's a bit pricey but definitely worth it if you love seafood! Mild was the perfect amount of spice for my family. We are all satisfied with our decision. That's good. It's really a pleasure. We decided that we were going back, and we needed to eat seafood and cooked rice. These look great, I want to try them. I highly recommend it. I will go back.
