Zur Alten Schule - Klingenthal

Based on the reviews and beautiful pictures, we decided to have a family lunch in here, but within 10mins we turned around and went for lunch somewhere else. Pros +Very beautiful and historic place with stylish decoration. Cons However this restaurant is only for German speaking people, if you don’t speak German, don’t go here. Staff doesn’t speak English at all (even basics) and menu is only in German, so you need a translator to understand what is on the menu. things which we chose from the menu apparently were unavailable that day they don’t accept international cards and for the above services you pay above average. Not accepting cards and inability to speak English makes this place a dead end. It is very unfortunate if you realise that just few kilometres away there is a World Cup ski jumping resort where people from various countries come!

Nice location and food presentation. However, the service was unfriendly and inattentive/rude. Food itself was mixed, mine tasted great but had some burned meat parts. Other dishes were mixed.

In Klingenthal for the holidays and enjoyed dinner at the Alta Schule last night. Food was outstanding! Flavorful and fresh. Fantastic food pairings. The selections of beer were very good. We will be back a couple times on this short trip.
