Ore Nell's Barbecue - Kittery

I was excited that there were so many vegan options in this BBQ joint. It made it the perfect scenario for a meeting with my Omnivore family for my mother's birthday. The location is also beautiful! I ordered the BBQ tofu (excellent taste!, and they served it on a bungalow. I realized from other reviews that the rabbit has egg in him, so I removed that and gave it to a family member. I also had the Mac n cheese (which was not super tasteful, and potato salad (very good!). The cocktail I ordered was also very delicious. Overall, I was very happy with my meal.

We know the owner, so it felt comfortable to be vegan here. His wife is vegan, so all his restaurants have vegan options. I am gf so got the Tofu Solo together with one side of collar. I'm not a BBQ sauce fan I don't like. I reject most of it to become more subtle. I know why I'm here? My husband loves it and we want to support the owner. And we can go here. He also loves the Pommes. Although he does not ask many questions, so do not make sure that the Pommes share space with animal products. The Tofu is Haleiwa tofu from Rockland. Very solid. The staff is always super brilliant. Location is one of the best in the area. Love to sit outside with our pup.

But honestly, I'm just so happy to have the options and variety. Got the vegan Mac, needed some salt and more oomph... bbq tofu was good! Honesty really happy, even if nothing is crazy. Just go through and come back if I were in the area!

I’ll start by saying the bbq tofu is amazing! It has a great smokey flavor. However, the potato salad was just okay. The vegan mac and cheese was not good at all, it tasted like macaroni with vegan butter and no cheesy taste. It’s inexpensive though so not too much of a let down. Make sure to specify vegan when ordering.
