Bidrage med feedbackLast Thursday, I visited the Merrie England Packhorse Centre with my granddaughter, which is our favorite spot in town. The food was once again excellent, with gorgeous sandwiches and a delicious creamy latte. They prepared a lunchbox for my granddaughter with a ham sandwich, a bag of crisps, a drink, and a chocolate truffle, which she loved. Although it is a bit pricey, it is definitely worth it. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and the staff are lovely and helpful. My coworkers and I have also ordered cakes from the Merrie England Packhorse Centre for birthday celebrations, and they have been amazing. I highly recommend the lemon drizzle cake in particular.
The Packhorse Centre's Merrie England restaurant has really poor customer service. The staff always appear sullen and stressed, never smiling. One particular lady brought me my sandwich and simply placed it on the table without acknowledging me, even though the place was empty. During a snowy day, they were all complaining and trying to get the management to close the shop. They were rushing around cleaning and giving me dirty looks. Eventually, I had to ask for a bag and a paper cup to enjoy my sandwich and coffee outside, as I couldn't stand the negative atmosphere any longer. When I mentioned this to my mother and sister, they shared similar experiences. I used to enjoy stopping there for a bite to eat and coffee, but now I will be going elsewhere where I can expect a smile and a better experience.
During my break, I ordered chicken soup to warm up. I don't usually have soup, but I was disappointed to find that it was nearly cold and lumpy.
Really poor sandwich today at Kirkpatrick merrier England. Regular visitor to new hey road. No longer value for money. £8.15 for a coffee and poor sandwich.
Hot beef and onion sandwich from here years ago was second to none , now however you getting half the beef half the gravy, and it cost more, the beef was dry , nearly 9£ for sandwich and a small coffee, C'mon merry England sort it out , I'm also sat across from a woman complaining about food so I'm not alone , if you're going to charge premium prices then deliver premium food .
