Bidrage med feedbackThe site has given many vegan options and when it came, only had cakes, soup and fried breakfast. That was a SUNDAY. Ordered the vegan soup and as arrived several options removed as stated were NOT vegan and cooked with the non-vegan. The soup was terrible like baby food and had a strange taste. 1 hour later man and I had bad stomach pain and later loose intestine, so eating was either OFF or not vegan. We complained by e-mail and were told that the Toppings WERE vegan and they had 4 separate hairdressers. It doesn't make any sense because the food was freshly cooked and the frit used this day MIXED. We're locals and have eaten cakes there. We will not use the restaurant again as we end up paying for a meal that had less and was NOT worth £6. It was a Sunday lunch and apparently only on Mother's Day you can order a decent vegan meal.
We have often been here and always found food and drinks a little on the expensive side, but were of good quality. But when buying the usual drinks today, we were very disappointed as they tasted watery and weak. Back to the cash registers we...went and a very friendly and helpful member of the staff explained that the boss had recently changed the supplier. For this you can read the high prices have remained high, but the quality has significantly reduced. It is a shame that this has happened to further increase their profit margins. There are only 2 ways to make this known. 1. Here on Tripadvisor and 2 if not return. Shame
The online menu has specials, but it was not offered at the table, which was surprising for a Saturday I thought. Limited choice after 11 o'clock. We ordered Fish Finger Butties that were not served with Mayonnaise Tartar Sauce. They were nice, but definitely not worth the price tags of £8.95. The Koleslaw was beautiful, but the side salad consisted of a few items placed on a very small small small gem salad leaf! The cake selection is bad, not the options they had when they were opened after renovation and nothing like the choice that existed earlier pre Strikes. We also ordered x2 butter spoons, only for the waiter to add jam and cream? so we agreed. The price for a buttercock was £2.45 ... you don't know what the fee was with the extras as its not on the menu and we got no bill. We had to go to the payment because the staff didn't come to us, although it wasn't busy.
What can I say except a very disappointing visit to have a coffee and cake .... Staff next to useless . No one interested in serving someone... unnecessary to say we were not served staff chatting with each other and no announcement of...customers .. had to go and not come back
Just been for a sunday lunch here, and we will not be rushing back anytime soon. £11.95 each for 1 course which was ok but expensive for what it was.Had to order from waiter but could have ordered through my phone app if it had been...explained properly. The mezls are placed at a drop off table which you have to go and get? No condiments were offered to you,and the way out which is a different route to coming in ,was not informed of that until nearly out!
