Janses Mattes - Heinsberg

In the past, this place was one of the very good restaurants in Heinsberg County. This was true for the kitchen and the service alike. We recently visited the restaurant with a larger number of people, with which the staff at the full house was totally overwhelmed at noon. We had to wait a long time (70 minutes) for the dishes that were then served only lukewarm. Supplements were also brought, if at all, lukewarm and late. Change requests to the menu were not included by the staff but were not taken into account. This brought incorrect food, withdrawn and served again. The children's plates consisted of a tasty carving with frits and a stick's pore vegetables. In short, the food was a catastrophe so that we disappointed and annoyed left the place.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our house soon. In contrast to the announcement in the Heinsberger Zeitung we open our restaurant on 8. February 2023 again for you. Really enjoyed the place and the food. The people are very friendly and speak English. Can suggest it to everyone to taste very traditional German food, beer and wine.

Excellent service by the staff and food portion and quality are awesome. Will definitely be back and recommend the restaurant to friends.

We booked in for Sunday lunch and were a little concerned by the limited set menu choices. My husband and I ordered different meals and both of us were pleased with our choices which we found the food excellent. This is a restaurant that takes its time in servicing you hence you must be prepared for a long relaxing afternoon. In all our dining experience lasted 2 1/2 hours but we would not have wanted it to be more rushed. We found the break between courses reasonable and necessary. There were no English menus available and our waitress had limited English however with the help of other customers she was able to explain our choices. We thought it was good value and would certainly eat there again.
